국문 초록

1990년대에 들어서면서 한국 안에서도 앞으로 미전도 종족 선교에 주력해야 한다는 변화가 일어나면서 1993년 미전도 종족 입양운동(Adopt A People Project) 본부를 출범시키게 되었고, 비로소 한국에서 미전도 종족 선교운동은새로운 단계에 접어들었다. 그러나 10/40창문 지역을 중심으로 하는 미전도종족 선교사역이 한국에서 1993년부터 시작하여 2018년 현재까지 20여 년 동안 진행되었음에도 불구하고 아직도 많은 한국의 지역교회, 신학교, 선교단체나 교단선교부에서 활발하게 이루어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 그렇다면 한국선교는 왜 이 지역의 선교에 새롭게 역량을 총동원해서 주력해야만 하는 것인가? 그 당위성은 이 10/40창문 지역은 서부 아프리카에서 동아시아의 북위 10도에서 40도 사이에 걸쳐있는 지역으로 전 세계의 인구의60%가 살고 있고, 미전도 종족 90% 이상이 이 지역에 집중되어 생존하고 있기때문이다. 지난 2006년 7월에 한국에서는‘남은과업 완수운동(FTT운동 : Finishing The Task Movement)’이 소개되면서 지금까지 FTT Korea를 통해서 다시 미전도 종족선교 운동이 강력히 강조되어지고 있다. 이것은 세계복음화를 성취하기 위한 남은 과업 완수라는 측면에서 10/40창문 지역을 중심으로 하는 미전도 종족 선교라는 이슈(Issue)가 전 세계의 교회에서 뿐만 아니라 한국에서도 21세기의 시대적 과제이자 이 시대의 가장 전략적인 선교임을 증명하는 것이라고할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 한국에서 10/40창문 지역을 중심으로 하는 미전도 종족선교사역이 더욱 활성화되어지고, 21세기의 시대적 과제이자 이 시대의 남은과업인 미전도 종족 선교가 한국선교를 통하여 활발하게 실행되어짐으로“모든 족속으로 제자를 삼으라”는 주님의 지상명령이 성취되어지며 재림하실 주님의 길을 준비하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 다른 말로 한다면 필자는 이 논문을 통해서 한국선교가 이 지역의 미전도 종족 선교를 책임져야 한다는 강력한도전을 하고자 하는 것이다.

영문 초록

In 1990, the Korean Mission started realizing the need to focus on evangelizing the unreached people and it caused the launch of the Adopt A People Project in 1993. With this project, the movement for the unreached peoples was able to proceed to the next level in Korea. The mission ministry for the unreached peoples in the 10/40 Window has continued from 1993 to 2018 for twenty years in Korea. However, it has not been mobilized actively in Korean local churches, seminaries, mission organizations, and denominational mission commissions. Then why it is necessary for the Korean Mission to expend all its efforts to concentrate on evangelizing this region? The 10/40 Window is the region located between 10 degrees to 40 degrees north of the equator, and extends from the western Africa across to the eastern Asia. About 60 percent of the world’s population lives in the 10/40 Window and over 90 percent of the people living in this area are what we call “the unreached people”. These facts justify the need to prioritize commission efforts in the 10/40 Window. After Finishing the Task (FTT) movement was introduced in Korea in July 2006, the mission movement for the unreached people was emphasized and it became the center of the attention. In order to accomplish the world evangelism, the mission for the unreached people in the 10/40 Window has to be taken as the main mission assignment in twenty-first century Korea and in order to complete the assignment, the mission strategy has to be provided accordingly. Therefore, this thesis was written for the purpose of preparing the way of the Lord by accomplishing the Great Commission that commands us to “make disciples of all nations. “In other words, this thesis will be presenting a great challenge and the responsibility that Korean Mission needs to take to evangelize the unreached people in this region.
