유아다문화교육 프로그램의 효과에 대한 메타분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 메타분석 방법을 활용하여 유아다문화교육 프로그램의 효과를 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 유아다문화교육 프로그램을 개발하는데 필요한 기초자료를 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2000년 이후 발표된 국내 관련 연구 36편을 대상으로 동질성 검정 후 랜덤효과모형을 적용, 효과크기를 산출하였다. 분석결과, 유아다문화교육의 전체 평균효과크기는 .96(U3=83.14%)으로 나타났다. 다문화교육 프로그램이 유아에게 미치는 효과가 매우 크다고 해석할 수 있으며, 통제집단이 50%의 성공률을 보인 반면, 실험집단의 경우 83.14%의 성공률을 보이고 있다는 것을 의미한다. 유아다문화교육 프로그램의 운영방법과 유형, 목표에 따라 그 하위범주별 평균효과크기를 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. Cohen(1998)의 효과크기 기준에 따를 때 대상 수는 11-20명 이하일 때, 적용횟수는 주4회 이상, 총 25회 이상 실시할 때 효과가 높았다. 다문화교육 프로그램의 종속변수에 따른 효과크기는 문화와 사회관계에서 큰 효과크기를 나타내었으며, 내용별 효과크기는 그림책을 활용한 다문화교육 프로그램이 가장 높게 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study aims at examining the effects of multi-cultural education programs for children with using Meta-analysis and providing basic knowledge to develop more appropriate programs. For this purpose, I selected 36 domestic studies on the topic published after 2000 and calculated effect size by applying random effect model after performing homogeneity test. The overall effect size of multi-cultural education programs were .96, which corresponds to U3 coefficient of 83.14%. This means the children group completed the multi-cultural education program get more 33% effect than the children of comparison group. The effect size of subcategories of multi-cultural education program, categorized by operating methods, contents, and goals, were as follows: The most high scored effect size groups, according to the effect size standard developed by Cohen(1998), were 11-20 children group in size, more than 4 times a week in application interval, and more than 25 times in frequency of education. Two variables, culture and social relations, marked high score in effect size among all the dependent variables of multi-cultral education programs and the programs using drawing books scored highest effect size in content.
