확률프론티어 기법을 활용한 한국 프로야구 선수들의 효율성 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 2007년부터 2010년까지의 한국 프로 야구 선수들의 기록자료를 바탕으로 혼합자료를 구축하여 개별 선수들의 효율성 분석을 진행하였다. 연구의 목적은 한국 프로야구 선수들의 개별 효율성 도출 및 성과분석을 통하여 선수 및 구단 입장에서의 효율적인 가치평가가 이루어질 수 있는 객관적 자료를 제시하는데 있다. 분석기법으로는 확률프론티어 모형을 활용하였고, 선수들에 대한 구분은 타자와 투수로 구분하여 2가지 부문으로 나누어서 진행하였다. 타자와 투수의 경우, 각각의 성과지표로서 장타율과 출루율의 합인 OPS와 이닝당 출루 허용률인 WHIP을 활용하였다. 분석결과, 타자의 경우 연봉과 게임 참여수가 성과에 대해 (+)의 관계를 가졌지만, 투수의 경우에는 연봉과 게임 참여수는 성과에 대해 (+)의 관계를 가지지만 나이는 성과에 대해 (-)의 관계를 가졌다. 또한, 성과지표 및 연봉에 대한 구단별 분석을 통해, 구단별 평균이상의 OPS와 WHIP를 기록한 선수들의 숫자 및 비율의 순위가 분석기간 동안의 구단성적의 평균의 순위와 유사함을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This paper studies with the efficiency analysis on the base of the unbalanced pooling data which is constructed by the records about Korean baseball players between 2007 and 2010. The purpose of this paper is to suggest the objective standard to evaluate the individual players efficiently in the aspect of team management. SFA is chosen as the method for analysis and the section of the analysis is divided as hitters and pitchers. The outcome variable in the case of hitters is used as OPS and in the case of pitchers is used as WHIP. The input components are used as wage, age, region, FA, abroad, the number of attending on the games, but FA is not used as the input variable in the case of pitchers due to data problem. As the estimation results, the performance in the hitters has the significantly positive relationship with wage and game numbers and in the pitchers has also the positive relationship with wage and game numbers but has the negative relationship with age significantly. Additionally, the results shows that there are many underestimated players and it needs to manage players efficiently in the aspect of team.
