국문 초록

오늘날 민족적 당위와 현실적 이익이라는 두 가지 측면이 남북한 통일 문제와 관련하 여 중요한 의미를 가지게 되었다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 통일의 필요성과 통일 비용의 부담에 대한 남북한 젊은 세대의 인식이 어떠한 차이를 보이는지를 설문조사 자료를 토대로 비교 분석하고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 본 연구는 보완적 차원에서 젊은 북 한 이탈 주민(탈북자)들을 대상으로 한 표적집단면접을 수행하여 경험적 연구결과들 에 대한 적실성 있는 이해와 해석을 도모하고 있다. 이를 통하여 본 연구는 남북한 통일 문제와 관련하여 민족적 당위와 현실적 이익의 문제를 어떻게 접근하고 어떠한 노력들을 전개하는 것이 바람직한 지에 대하여 제안하고 있다.

영문 초록

The reunification of South and North Korea has been regarded as a national mission since the Korean peninsula was divided two nations. However, as time goes by, many Korean people consider the realistic benefits more important than the national identity regarding the reunification issue. Considering this, this study analyzes the perceptional differences of the younger generations between South and North Korea regarding the reunification issues. To be more specific, it analyzes which factors have a influence on feeling the need for reunification as well as paying reunification tax of the South and North Korean younger generations utilizing the survey data. In addition, this study did FGI(Focus Group Interview) with the North Korean defectors to explain the outcomes of empirical analyses more precisely and validly. Therefore, this study can give a lot of implications or suggestions about the reunification issues of the two Koreas.
