문화정체성 함양을 위한 통합 교과의 재구성 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 2015년 초등학교 교육과정 2학년 통합 교과 ‘겨울’의 내용 중 일부를 재구성해서 학생들의 문화정체성 단계를 보다 효과적으로 높여 세계시민성을 기르는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2개 학급을 대상으로 총 20 차시의 문화정체성 함양을 위한 프로 그램을 실시하였다. 이후 두 집단에 사후 검사를 실시하여 학생들의 문화정체성 단계의 변화를 살펴보았다. Banks(2006)의 문화정체성 이론에서는 대부분의 학생들이 3단 계인 문화정체성의 명료화 단계이상에 도달하고 많은 학생들이 5단계 및 6단계에 도달 하는 것을 목표로 하고 있으므로 이에 맞추어 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 실시한 사전 검사와 사후 검사를 통해 20차시의 수업을 통해 프로그램을 적용한 학생들의 문화정체성 단계가 적용하지 않은 학생들에 비해 특히 4단계인 이중 문화주의와 5단계인 글로벌주의와 글로벌 소양 단계에서 함양되었음을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 또한 학생들을 사전검사에 따라 실험집단과 통제집단의 결과 값을 평균으로 개인별로 평균 이하 값을 얻은 단계의 개수를 합해 학생들을 5개의 집단으로 분류하였다. 프로그램 실시 후, 사후 검사에서 살펴본 결과 학생들의 문화정체성 집단이 긍정적으로 변화한 학생이 40%에 달하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to reconstruct some of the contents of ‘Nara’ in the second year integrated elementary curriculum of 2015 to raise the level of cultural identity of students more effectively to foster global citizenship. A comparison of pre- and post-assessments shows that cultural identity of students in the experimental group was much more fostered than the students in the control group. The program was especially effective on stage four, ‘biculturalism’, and stage five, ‘globalism and global competency’. In addition, students were classified into five groups by the number of stages in which the students obtained below average based on results of the pre-assessment result value of experimental and the control group being the average. The program is effective in fostering the level of cultural identity as the post-assessment indicates that 40% of the students in the experimental group showed positive changes. By supplementing, revising this program, and applying it to other grades of elementary school or classes with various nationalities and ethnicities, other meaningful results can be expected.
