영문 초록

The question of the relationship between poet and society and the social role of poetry is a main feature of Russian literature. Masters of Russian literature, dealing with the theme of the poet, tried to build their own image of a poet. In this article we will analyze the following three poems in the form of dialogue: Pushkin’s “A Conversation between a Bookseller and a Poet” (1824), Lermontov’s “Journalist, Reader, and Writer” (1840), and Mayakovsky’s “Conversation with the Finance Inspector about Poetry” (1926). In these three poems, Pushkin, Lermontov and Mayakovsky say in common that the nature of a poetry, the role of a poet in society, and the separation of poets and the masses. However, the context in which these themes are expressed differs in relation to the each poet s situation and reality in which the work was created. We will try to explain the similarities and the differences of the three poets’ notions of poetry and poet by analysing their works.
