교과교육을 위한 질적 연구의 방향 : 국어교육을 중심으로

국문 초록

이 글은 질적 연구의 의미를 교과 연구로 수용하기 위한 논의를 하기 위한 것이다. 질적 연구(qualitative Research) 의 인식론적(Epistemology) 근거는 해석학(Hermeneutics)과 현상학(Phenomenology)을 통해 얻을 수 있다는 것이다. 이때의 현상학과 해석학은 실증주의적 과학 방법론에 근거한 전통적 객관주의(Objectivism)적 인식론에 대한 대안적 패러다임이라 볼 수 있다. 질적 연구는 교육 전반에 대한 양적 해석의 문제를 극복하기 위한 한 노력으로 수용되면서 교육적 경험들을 ‘측정(to measure 혹은 determination)’보다 ‘이해(an explanation)’의 대상으로 바라보면서, 이러한 경험들이 객관화되기보다는 상호주관성(Intersubjective)의 자체를 드러내려는 노력을 하게 되었다. 그러나 인류학적 관점에서의 논리가 각 교과로 수용될 때, 각 교과가 가진 자질들을 규명하기 위한 노력으로 수렴되어야 할 필요가 있다. 국어교육과에서의 질적 연구 역시 인류학적 관점에서 국어교육과정을 연구하기보다 국어교육학적 관점에서 연구를 수행되어야 할 것이다. 인류학이나 현상학의 문제를 가지고 교육을 설명할 것이 아니라 교육의 문제를 중심으로 인류학이나 현상학적 속성을 분석하여 교육을 이해하고 문제를 해결해야 오히려 일반 교육학이나 문학, 국어학과 구별되는 지식의 상대성을 극복할 수 있게 될 것이기 때문이다.

영문 초록

This study is for the discussion that adapt qualitative Research\ s meaning into the subject matters education. Qualitative Research\ s Epistemological base can be acquired through Hermeneutics and Phenomenology. In this case, Hermeneutics and Phenomenology are can be seen as alternative paradigm of traditional Objectivism Epistemology based of positivistic science\ s methodology. Qualitative Research have been adapting as one of many tries to overcome quantitative analysis\ problems in education. It looks educational experiences as the object to be explained rather than measured. It also think these experiences intersubjective rather than objective. But when Anthropological view\ s logic is adapted into the education of each subject-matter, we need to try for identifying features that the education of each subject-matter have. Similarily, Qualitative Research in Korean language education\ s study must research its cur riculum in the view of Korean language education\ s study rather than Anthropology. We must not try to explain the education with Hermeneutics and Phenomenology. Because when we centered our attention on the educational problems and try to understand and solve them through analysis of Hermeneutics and Phenomenology\ s features, we can overcome the knowledge\ s Relativity to make a distinction with general pedagogy, literature, or linguistics.
