초등 영재학생들의 연소 개념

국문 초록

이 연구는 초등 영재학생 19명을 대상으로 물질의 연소시 나타나는 기체의 변화와 반응물과 생성물의 관계를 중심으로 연소에 대한 개념을 조사하고 분석하였다. 연소 검사지는‘연소의 정의’,‘ 집기병으로 덮었을 때 촛불이 꺼지는 이유’,‘ 초의 연소 과정에서 집기병 속의 기체 변화’,‘ 초의 연소 생성물’,‘ 철솜의 연소 생성물’, ‘물질의 연소 생성물’을 묻는 문항으로 구성되었다. 각 문항에 대한 영재학생들의 응답을 과학적 개념(S), 부분개념(P), 오개념(M)의 수준으로 분류하여 정리하였다. 연구 결과, 문항에 따라 조금 차이를 보이지만 전체적으로 과학적 개념과 부분 개념을 가진 영재학생들의 비율은 매우 낮은 반면, 오개념을 가진 영재학생들의 비율은 매우 높았다. 그러나 초의 연소 생성물에 대한 문항에서는 초등 영재학생들 중 대부분이 부분 념을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate concepts of elementary gifted students on combustion. For this study, concept test on combustion was administered to 19 elementary gifted students. The test composed of 6 item: ‘Definition of combustion’,‘ The reason why a candle in a glass bottle is blown out when the bottle was closed’,‘ The change of gases in the bottle when a candle burns in it’, ‘The combustion products of a candle’, ‘The combustion products of steel wool’, and ‘The combustion products of a substance’. The answers of elementary gifted students were analyzed by scientific concept, partial concept, and misconception. The results showed that the ratios of elementary gifted students who had scientific and partial concepts on combustion were very low, but the ratios of those who had misconceptions were very high. However, most of elementary gifted students had partial concept in the item on combustion products of a candle.
