영문 초록

In art history, mimesis is a concept of imitation, representation and reproduction. It’s been widely used in diverse fields such as sculpture, painting, poetry, literature, fashion and architecture. In the beginning, this term started from the expressive characteristics of ritualistic meaning. Since then, it has evolved with the characteristics of the following: imitation that reproduces the style and look of nature, copying of the essence of a subject and characteristics in which an entity can be freely expressed by an artist. Angelo Seminara, an artistic director of the Italian brand ‘Davines’, has received awards at the renowned British Hairdresser Awards (BHA) several times. He has unveiled creative and unique hairstyles through personal collections and exhibitions. This study attempted to analyze the relationship between beauty art and mimesis. First, it tried to classify hairstyles in his hair collections according to mimetic characteristics based on the concept and types of mimesis. In addition, this study observes mimetic expressions in each hairstyle and analyzes hairstyling characteristics. Furthermore, it targets the building of the potential to establish an academic foundation in cosmetology through this kind of aesthetic approach and develop it into art.
