성인 지적장애인을 돌보는 노년기 어머니의 평생계획 수립

국문 초록

본 연구는 성인 지적장애인을 돌보는 노년기 어머니를 대상으로 그들의 평생계획 수립 수준을 알아보고, 평생계획 수립과 관련이 있는 요인을 파악하여 사회복지적 개입을 위한 함의를 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 서울·경인 지역에 거주하는 만 18세 이상의 지적장애인을 돌보는 어머니를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였고 총 421부를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 성인 지적장애인을 돌보는 노년기 어머니의 평생계획 수립은 4점 만점에 2.35점이었고, 평생계획의지와 주거계획 수립에 비해 재정과 법률적인 계획수립은 다소 저조한 수준이었다. 노년기 어머니의 평생계획 수립과 관련이 있는 요인으로는 정서중심대처의 사용, 평생돌봄 부담, 자조집단의 지지, 소득, 비장애자녀의 지지, 전문가 지지, 결혼상태의 순으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 본 연구를 기반으로 성인 지적장애자녀를 돌보는 노년기 어머니의 평생계획 수립을 위한 사회복지적 관심의 필요성과 실천적 개입방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of permanency planning on elderly mothers of adults with intellectual disability. For the purpose of this study, mothers living in Seoul, Kyonggi, and Incheon who caring adults with intellectual disability aged 20 and over, were selected purposively to survey for this study. The subjects of this study were selected from the service users of community rehabilitation centers in the study areas after getting approval of the centers. Finally, a total of 421 subjects were responded to the survey and data were analyzed using SPSS. The results of this study were as follows. The factors of mother s variables were the average income, marriage status had statistical difference in the permanency planning. As a result of multiple regression analysis, emotion-centered coping strategy, Burden of life-long caregiving, supports from self-help group, income, supports from non-disabled children, supports from professionals, marital status were identified as statistically significant predictors for the level of permanency planning. Based on the results of the study, implication for social work practice and limitation of the study were discussed.
