문제해결 활동에 기초한 지속가능발전교육 역량 신장

국문 초록

지속가능발전은 환경 보호와 사회의 안정, 경제 성장의 조화가 이뤄져야 한다. 하지만 현재 초등학교 5학년 1학기 교과서에서의 지속가능발전의 필요성과 사례는 환경문제에 초점을 맞추어 설명하고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 사회 문제에 초점을 두는 지속가능발전교육에 관심을 가지게 되었고, 젠트리피케이션과 투어리스티피케이션 현상을 소재로 한 지속가능발전교육 프로그램을 개발 및 연구하고자 하였다. 연구 방법은 실행연구법이며, 지속가능발전교육 핵심 역량 평가지를 초등용으로 수정하여 초등학교 5학년 21명의 학생들에게 설문을 실시하여 총 9명의 최종 연구 대상을 선정하였다. 연구프로그램은 총 3차 실행으로 계획하였고 창의적 문제해결모형과 현장 학습이 함께 적용되는 수업 흐름으로 구성하였다. 매 실행에서의 수업 과정과 학생들의 반응, 상호작용들은 녹화되어 실행 연구 및 결과 분석에 사용되었다. 프로그램 적용 결과 본 프로그램은 연구 대상의 지속가능발전교육 핵심 역량 신장에 효과가 있는 것으로 드러났다. 학생들의 소감문과 인터뷰 내용을 통해선 학생들이 직접 문제점을 탐색하는 과정에서 비판적사고력과 문제해결력, 정보처리 능력, 자아 성찰적 태도, 타자 지향적 태도가 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 젠트리피케이션 및 투어리스티피케이션 관련 사회 문제 해결형 지속가능발전교육 프로그램을 개발하여 지속가능발전교육 역량을 신장시킨 사례를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Sustainable development should be harmonized with environmental protection, social stability and economic growth. However, the needs and examples of sustainable development introduced to students are focused on environmental issues. Therefore, this researcher was interested in sustainable development education focusing on social problems, and developed sustainable development education program based on the phenomenon of gentrification and touristification that are emerging as global issues. The research program was planned as a total three run, and consisted of a class flow in which creative problem solving model and field learning were applied together. The teaching process and students reactions in each action were recorded and used for performance studies and results analysis. As a result of applying the program over three action research, the program was proved to be effective in increasing the core capacity of education for sustainable development(ESD). As a result of the post-test on the evaluation sites such as the pre-test, the scores of the core competency of Sustainable Development Education were increased in all 9 students. The students writings and interviews showed that students were able to improve critical thinking skills, problem-solving ability, information processing ability, self-reflective attitude, and others-care attitudes in the process of exploring problems. This study is significant in that it provided a case of developing education for sustainable development program by solving social problems related to gentrification and touristification.
