중년기 위기감이 자살생각에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 중년기 위기감이 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 이들의 관계에서 사회적 지지와 영성적 지지의 조절효과를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상은 서울시에서 자살비율이 높은 4개 자치구에 거주하는 36세~55세 남·녀 631명이며, 조사도구는 연구대상자의 일반적 특성, 중년기 위기감 척도, 사회적 지지 및 영성적 지지 척도, 자살생각 척도로 구성된 질문지이다. 수집된 자료의 분석을 위해 요인분석, 적률상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석, 그리고 조절회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 중년기 위기감이 높을수록 자살생각이 높은 것으로 나타났는데, 정서적 위기감과 결혼불만족이 높은 경우 자살생각이 높았다. 특히 중년기의 정서적 위기감이 자살생각에 미치는 영향력이 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 지지와 영성적 지지가 자살생각에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않았지만, 중년기 위기감이 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 사회적 지지와 영성적 지지가 정서적 위기감과 상호작용하여 자살생각을 감소시키는 완충적 조절역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 영성적 지지가 결혼불만족과 상호작용하여 자살생각을 조절하는 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 중년기 자살예방을 모색하는데 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to research the influence of mid-life crisis on the suicidal ideation and to investigate moderating effects of social support and spiritual support which are the desirable buffering mechanism as protection factor for middle aged adults who experienced mid-life crisis in daily life. The subjects of this study were 631 middle aged adults in Seoul. The research tool is questionnaires which are consist of demographic characteristics of the subjects, mid-life crisis scale, social support and spiritual support scale, and suicidal ideation. In order to analyze the data of the study, fact analysis, correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis, and moderated multiple regressions were used. The main results of this study were as following. First, there was significant correlation between mid-life crisis and suicidal ideation. Second, the result illustrates the fact that social support and spiritual support had moderating effect on the relationship between the mid-life crisis and suicidal ideation. The findings suggest that mid-life crisis increase the influence of suicidal ideation on social support and spiritual support. Using these findings, social work practice, in particular, can be guided in terms of an important strategies for middle aged suicidal prevention program.
