의학전문대학원생의 학업스트레스, 우울 및 사회적 지지에 관한 연구 :

국문 초록

본 연구는 의학전문대학원생들이 대학원 학업 수행을 함에 있어 과도한 학습량, 잦은 시험 및 임상실습 등으로 학업스트레스에 노출되어 있어 정신적 우울 증상이 빈번하게 나타나는 경향이 있다. 이에 학업스트레스와 우울간의 관계를 밝히고 사회적 지지의 완충효과가 있는지를 검토함으로써 미래 전공의로서 환자 중심의 진료를 수행하도록 하는 사회복지실천의 가능성을 시사하는데 그 연구의 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구는 의학전문대학원생 135명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하여 변수들 간의 상관관계를 검증하였고 사회적 지지의 조절효과는 위계적 회귀분석과 단순기울기((simple slope)비교를 통해 검증하였다. 그 연구결과 첫째, 학업스트레스와 우울은 정적관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 사회적 지지와 우울은 부적관계를 나타냈다. 셋째, 학업스트레스의 하위 변인 중 정서소진이 우울 간의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 모든 하위요인들이 조절효과를 나타냈다. 학업스트레스 중 정서소진이 높아질수록 의학전문대학원생들의 우울이 증가함에 따라 의학전문대학원 내에서 사회복지 실천 개입 가능성을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to test how social support would moderate the relation between academic stress and depression of students majoring in medicine, and ultimately, to cope well with their academic stressors of study overload, frequent tests and clinical practicum and to adapt social work intervention to students with the academic stress in order to do their future medical patient-centered practice. The data of 135 graduate medical school students were collected and analyzed to detect the association of research variables with correlation analysis and to test the buffering effect of social support with moderated regression analysis and simple slope comparison. The results showed that the academic stress was correlated positively with depression and social support was correlated negatively with depression. The emotional burnout, a factor of students academic stress, affected their depression with the statistical significance and social support moderated the association between the burnout and depression. With the emotional burnout heightening students depression, we discussed the implication and suggestion to adapt social work intervention to the educational settings of medicine.
