미래 원조전문직의 노인 건강 교육프로그램의 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 세계에서 가장 빠른 압축적 고령화 사회에 처한 한국의 현실상 노인들의 보건의료 서비스에 대한 다양한 요구에 부응하여 노인의 삶의 질을 높여 긍극적으로 건강한 복지사회 구현을 위해 시도하였다. 연구목적은 노인대상 건강 교육프로그램을 개발하고 노인간호학을 수강하지 않은 미래 원조전문직 간호학생을 대상으로 노인에 대한 지식과 태도의 효과를 평가하기 위함이다. 연구설계는 비동등성 대조군 전후 유사실험연구이며 연구대상은 C대학과 K대학에서 노인간호학을 수강하지 않은 간호학생으로 실험군 28명과 대조군 30명이었다. 자료수집은 4주의 교육중재 전과 후에 자가기입식 설문 방식으로 이루어졌으며 자료분석은 x2-test, Fisher’s exact probability test 와 t–test를 활용하여 분석하였다. 교육중재 결과 실험군에서 대조군보다 노인에 대한 지식이 유의하게 증가하였다. 그러나 노인에 대한 태도는 두 군 간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 보다 나은 노인간호를 제공하기 위해 간호학생은 노인 건강 교육프로그램을 통해 얻은 지식을 실무에서 적용할 수 있어야 되며 이를 성취하기 위해 건강관련 원조전문직 간호학생은 먼저 노인에 대한 개인적인 태도와 인식을 변화시켜야 된다. 또한 근거중심 노인간호 프로토콜이 표준화되고 확립되도록 간호관련 학교나 임상기관에서의 지지가 제공되어져야 되며 이러한 보건의료체제가 사회에서 확실히 정착되도록 각 분야에서의 노력이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study was attempted to meet the health care service demands of Korean older adults in this current pressured aging society in order to increase their quality of life and to realize a healthy welfare society. The purposes of this research are to develop an older adults health education program and evaluate its effect on knowledge and attitudes of prospective helping professionals toward older adults. A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants were nursing major college students recruited from C and K colleges in G city in Korea. The sample consisted of an intervention group (n=28) that participated in the educational program and a control group (n=30). The data were collected prior to and 4 weeks after the intervention using self-administered questionnaires. Data analyses utilized x2-test, Fisher’s exact probability test, and t– test. After the intervention, knowledge about the elderly increased significantly in the experimental group compared to the control group. However, there were no statistically significant differences between the groups in their attitudes toward the elderly. To provide better nursing care to the elderly, nurses need to be able to practically apply the knowledge they have acquired from the elder-care nursing education programs in hands-on situations. Moreover, there is a need for securely establishing health care systems that can effectively support social welfare. To achieve this, nurses should work to change their personal attitudes and perceptions about the elderly. Also, nursing-relevant schools and clinical institutions should provide support through which evidence-based older adults nursing care practice protocols be standardized and established.
