재일한국인 여성노인 생애사 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 두 개의 조국을 가지고 식민지배국인 일본에서 살아가고 있는 재일한국인 디아스포라의 경험적 삶을 탐구하기 위해 생애사적 연구방법론으로 접근했다. 본 연구는 재일한국인 1세중에 민단과 조총련 양쪽의 활동 경력을 갖고 있으며 귀화하지 않은 채 일본에서 거주하는 85세 여성노인을 대상으로 심층면담을 수행하였다. Mandelbaum(1973)이 제시한 삶의 영역(dimensions), 전환점(turnings), 그리고 적응(adaptation)으로 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 연구결과를 도출하였다. 삶의 영역은 [일본으로 입국한 보모로서의 생활], [점방 점원으로서의 생활], [결혼 후 조총련계 활동가의 아내로서의 생활], [경제를 책임진 여성가장으로서의 생활], [디아스포라로서의 생활]의 5개영역이었다. 삶의 전환점은 [일본으로 밀입국], [더부살이], [결혼], [조총련 활동], [한국국적 취득], [양돈일], [야간학교 입학]이었다. 삶의 적응전략으로는 [순응], [자기 삶을 기획하기 위한 인적 네트워크 구축], [억척스러움과 틈새시장 개척]으로 분석된다. 연구 참여자는 분단으로 인해 두 개의 모국을 갖게 되었지만 한국인으로서의 정체성을 유지하면서 균형점을 찾은 디아스포라의 삶을 영위했다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 디아스포라로서의 특수한 재일한국인의 경험적 삶과 이들에 대한 현지 적응 지원 및 보상 결여의 문제에 대해 논의를 했다. 마지막으로 국외 영사관을 중심으로 재일한국인 노인층의 현지적응을 지원하는 담당자와 주무부처 설치와 한국인학교를 중심으로 정체성을 유지하면서 현지인들과 통합할 수 있는 교육의 필요성을 제안했다.

영문 초록

In this study, I approached the life history research methodology to explore the empirical life of the Korean diaspora who has dual mother country and living in the colonial dominant nation. I performed in - depth interviews with elderly women aged 85 years living in Japan who have experience of both the federation of Korean Residents in Japan and Jochongryon among the 1st year residents in Japan. The dimensions, turnings, and adaptations of Mandelbaum (1973) were analyzed and the following results were obtained. The Area of life is composed of five dimensions [Living as a nanny who entered Japan], [Life as a fortunetelling shop clerk], [After the marriage, Life as a wife of pro-Pyongyang activist], [Living as a female breadwinner], [Life as a diaspora]. The turning point is composed of [Smuggled into Japan], [Freeload], [Marriage], [Activity of pro-Pyongyang], [Acquisition of Korean nationality], [Pork industry business and Self-made], [Entrance into Night school]. It could be analyzed [Adaptation], [The establishing of human network for planing own life], [Toughness and developing niche market] as the strategy of life adaptation. The research participant has dual mother country caused by division but he led life of diaspora who maintained the identity and had equilibrium point between the countries as korean. Based on the results of these researches, I discussed the special experience of diaspora and the problem of lack of compensation and support of local adaptation. Finally, I proposed the necessity of education to integrate with the local people while keeping the identity of the Korean consulate with Korean school as the center and the person in charge of supporting adaptation of Korean elderly in Korea.
