국문 초록

북한에서 아동영화는 ‘어린이들을 대상으로 하고 그들의 교양을 목적으로 만들어진 영화’를 의미한다. 북한에서 아동영화는 어린이들을 대상으로 한 교양사업이라는 분명한 목적을 갖고 창작된다. 북한 교육에서 말하는 지덕체는 개인의 교양을 위한 영역이 아니다. ‘지덕체 교양’은 주체사상으로 재구성된 ‘북한식’ 교육내용 이다. 아동영화는 아동의 지적 수준과 심리적 특성에 맞추어 동화, 우화적 창작이 허용된다. 아동영화의 대중성 때문이다. 아동영화의 깊은 매력은 동화세계 때문이라고 설명한다. 아이들은 동화의 세계에 환호하고, 동화세계에 심취하여 뒹굴며 뛰어놀게 된다는 것이다. 아동영화의 동화적 특성을 창작과 연결하였을 때 좋은 작품이 나온다는 것이다. 동화의 특성을 아동의 수준에 맞게 지적 교양과 계급교양에 활용하는 것이다. 아동영화라고 해도 정치성이 없는 것은 좋은 작품이 될수 없다. 사회주의 교양에 맞지 않는다고 해서, ‘순수한 정서교양’이라는 것 자체를 부정한다. 그리고 동화적 기법을 활용한다고 해도 “대상에 대한 정확한 표상”을 줄 수 있도록 진실성을 담아야 한다.

영문 초록

In North Korea, children’s film means those that are “made for children and intended to educate them.” Children’s film is purposefully intended as part of the state’s education work. North Korea’s conception of knowledge, virtue, and physical constitution does not belong to the realm of individual education. “The education of knowledge, virtue, and physical constitution” in North Korea entails self-reliant (juche) ideology. Children’s film is allowed include fables and children’s stories in order to cater to the intellectual capacity and psychological characteristics unique to children. This is because of the popularity of children’s films. The official explanation points to the profound appeal of children’s stories. Children are excited by their stories and play joyfully by relishing them. Good quality work is supposedly produced by linking the characteristics of children’s stories to original creation. The characteristics of children’s stories are used for intellectual and class education. Even children’s film must feature a strong political orientation in order to qualify as a commendable piece. “Pure spiritual education” is denied if children’s films do not reflect socialist education. Even if the methods of children’s stories are used, veracity must be made evident by an “accurate representation of the given subject.
