자폐성 장애아동을 위한 보완․대체 의사소통 체계 적용 연구 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 지난 10년간 자폐성 장애인을 대상으로 보완․대체 의사소통체계(AAC)를 적용한 국내 실험연구의 동향을 살펴보기 위하여 2000년에서 2010년 6월까지 국내 학술지에 게재된 12편의 실험연구를 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석 논문 선정기준에 맡는 12편의 논문을 논문 게재 연도별, AAC유형과 종속변인으로 나누어 분석하였다. 개별 논문들은 연구대상, AAC유형과 종속변인, 연구방법, 그리고 연구 결과로 세분하여 분석되었다. 연구 대상은 7세 이하의 아동이 대부분을 차지하였고, 초등학생을 대상으로 한 논문과 고등부 및 전공과에 재학 중인 학생을 대상으로 한 연구도 있었다. 12편의 논문 중 11편이 단일대상연구방법을 사용하여 중재의 효과를 측정하였으며, 종속변인은 AAC의 습득, 구어, 문제 행동 및 사회적 상호작용이었다. 연구결과는 전반적으로 긍정적인 성과를 보고하였다. 본 연구에서는 분석 결과를 토대로 지금까지 자폐성 장애아동을 대상으로 수행되어온 AAC 실험연구의 동향을 살펴보고, 연구결과를 토대로 추후 연구 방향에 대한 논의와 제언을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this literature review were to analyze empirical studies on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for individuals with autism and to examine current research trends in this matter. To achieve these purposes, 12 studies on AAC for individuals with autism, published between 2000 and 2010, were selected and analyzed with characteristics of participants, the types of AAC and dependent variables, research methodologies, and results. The results showed that 75% of participants were children with autism under 7 years old. 11 studies used picture-based AAC (i.e., PCS or PECS), and only one study used VOCA for enhancing social interactions between children with and without disabilities. In terms of research methodologies, single-subject research designs were employed in 11 studies, and group design in only one study. All studies reported the positive results of AAC s uses on communication and on social interaction. Based on the results, issues and future research directions were discussed.
