시민사회의 관점에서 본 공정성의 가치: 그 넓이와 깊이에 관하여

국문 초록

최근 한국에서 공정사회에 대한 논의가 활발해지면서 공정성의 가치가 무엇이고 어떤 의미를 지니는가에 대한 의문이 일고 있다. 이 글은 시민사회의 공정성의 가치가 광의적으로 볼 때 정치공동체의 안정뿐만 아니라 개인 실존과도 밀접하게 관련되어 있다는 가정 하에서, 국가와 시장의 그것과 비교하여 시민사회의 공정성의 가치를 사회철학적으로 규명하고, 그것이 가진 의미를 드러내는 것이 목적이다. 먼저 시민사회는 공정성의 양적 넓이에서 자율, 참여, 다원성, 공론장, 개방, 관용, 연대, 신뢰, 공동체, 도덕과 윤리, 환경, 세계시민정신, 약자 보호, 소수자 옹호, 봉사, 실험정신, 영성, 대안사회 등포괄성을 지닌다. 특히 다원성의 존중, 세계시민정신, 자연과의 공존 등이 자아실현에 지니는 의미를 집중적으로 살펴보았다. 그리고 시민사회는 공정성의 질적 깊이에서 자유의 심층적 확장, 절대적 의미의 관용과 신뢰, 사회적 약자의 지원 습속, 소수자의 정체성 체화, 영성의 발현 등 개인의 자아실현뿐만 아니라 생명평화의 구축에 중요한 의미를 지니고 있음을 지적하였다.

영문 초록

This article aims to address the fairness of civil society in the perspective of social philosophy compared to those of the state and market, on the assumption that the values of fairness are critical to the individual existence as well as the stability of the body politic, To attain this research purposes, I searched for the meanings and limits of fairness of the state and market and presented the importance of fairness of civil society in breadth and depth, Civil society possesses a lot of values of fairness in its breadth, Most of all, respect for pluralism, cosmopolitanism, and coexistence with the nature are important to self-actualization, Civil society is also the reserves of qualitative values of fairness such as in-depth extension of freedom, unconditional tolerance and trust, habits of supports for the weak, introjection of minority identities, and manifestation of spirituality which have important meanings not only to individual self-actualization but to social construction of life peace,
