영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to study of Simplification in Egyptian Arabic. Arabic;a Semitic language;is characterized with a diglossia structure — Literary Arabic (LA) and Colloquial Arabic (CA). In this paper CA is focused on Egyptian Arabic (EA). The Simplification is derived from LA into EA in the following. In the phonological aspect;some consonants in EA are changed in the easy-pronounced forms;for example ṯ → t or s; ḏ → d or z; j → g; q → ʔ; ʔ → Ø. In vowels two diphthongs are changed into long vowels (ay → ē;aw → ō);and vowel-lengthening;shortening and deletion are occurred in many circumstances. And i-vocalization is widespread. In syllable EA’s length is shorter than that of LA’s. The position of stress of EA is retreated backwards. In the morphological aspect;most of the words in EA lose the word-final endings and their vowels. And the dual forms are disappeared except nouns. And numerals in EA lose the complexity of LA. In the syntax the word order is SVO in EA rather than VSO in LA. And the personal pronouns are used much more in EA than in LA. And in EA. the tense-markers are used to express the present and future tenses.
