《情史》의 국내 수용 과정에 관한 試論

국문 초록

이 논문은 중국 晩明 시기에 등장한 文言小說選集 《情史》가 국내에 수용된 과정을 검토하되, 《情史雜選》·《情史類略抄》 등 이미 해제가 이루어졌던 기존의 선집과 달리 그동안 학계에서 언급되지 않았던 《情史彙珠》란 선집의 기본적 성격을 파악하는 데 중심을 두었다. 《情史》의 국내 유입과 관련해, 《閱古觀書目》·《隆文樓書目》·《大畜觀書目》 등 왕실 서목이나 尹德熙·李鈺·宋來熙·池奎植 등 문인의 기록을 통해 이 책의 국내 유입 상황은 일단 분명하게 확인된다. 필자는 이들 여러 자료 가운데 池奎植이 《荷齋日記》에서 언급한, “《정사(情史)》 중에서 볼 만한 것을 한글로 베꼈다.”, “골라낸 《정사》를 표지를 잘 꾸며서 춘헌에게 주었다.”는 언급에 주목하여 이 번역 초록집과 《情史彙珠》·《情史雜選》 등 시선집의 관련 가능성을 고려해보았다. 국내 소장 《情史》 선집 가운데 특히 《情史彙珠》·《情史雜選》 두 시선집은 문언소설집 《情史》 내용 중에서 ‘고사’가 아닌 ‘詩詞’를 선별했다는 점, 그 선별 기준이구체적으로 드러나지 않는다는 점, 체제가 엄밀한 편이 아니고 필사 과정의 오류가 적지 않다는 점 등에서 적지 않은 공통성이 있다. 그런데 이 두 선집의 작자, 제작 시기 등에 관한 자료가 전무한 상태인지라 상술한 지규식과의 관련성 문제 등은 매우 추상적인 가설일 수밖에 없으며, 향후 학계에서 연구가 확대될 수 있도록 참고로 제시한 것일 뿐이다. 한편, 이 논의 과정에 참고하기 위해 일본 쪽에서 이루어진 선집이나 번역본, 예를 들어 107종 고사를 선록한 《情史抄》, 일부 작품을 선별해 번역한 《通俗情史》 등도 함께 비교해보았다. 결론적으로, 이들 각 선집을 서로 비교하는 과정에서 각 텍스트의 구체적 선별 기준을 파악하기란 쉽지 않았다. 이 때문에 본고에서는 일단 새로 발굴한 《情史彙珠》의 성격 규명을 일차 목표로 삼아, 이를 다른 선집과 비교해 파악한다는 전제에서 관련 문제들을 개괄적으로 살펴보았고, 여전히 남은 문제들은 향후 계속 검토해나가고자 한다.

영문 초록

This research reviewed the acceptance process of an anthology of classical-language stories Qinshi (history of love, 情史) which appeared in Late Ming dynasty of China into Korea. Unlike the existing anthologies such as Chengsa-jabseon (a random collection of Cheonsa), Chengsa-yuliakcho (a random collection of Chengsa-yuliak) that already have annotated before, I introduced the basic characteristics of anthology called Chengsa-huiju (a special collection of Chengsa) which were not mentioned in the academia in meantime. Related to the acceptance of Qingshi in Korea, according to the book index of royal library such as Yolgoguanseomok, Yungmulluseomok, Daechukguanseomok and the record of the writers including Yun Deokhee·Lee ok·Song Laehee·Ji Gyusik, the acceptance process in Korea is evidently confirmed. I focused on the reference that Ji Gyusik mentioned in Hajae’s diary “I have copied things in Qingshi in Korean that were worthy to look through.” “I decorated the cover of selected Qingshi and gave it to Chunheon.” and considered the possibility of relevance between the translation collections and collection of poems such as Chengsa-Huiju and Chengsa-jabseon. Especially in the Qingshi anthology restored in Korea, Chengsa-huiju and Chengsa-jabseon two collection of poems are an anthology of classical language stories, In the context, they have selected poem instead of story in Qingshi, The criteria of selection is not specific. the system is not strict and there are several mistakes in the process in re-writing. However, considering the fact that there are almost no reliable evidence about the writer of these two anthologies or the production period. Therefore, the relation issue between Ji Gyusik above-mentioned cannot but be abstract. I have suggested the issues expecting the research to be extended in the future. On the other hand, I have compared the anthologies and translations also in Japan. For example, Joushi shō (a random collection of Joushi) which recorded the 107 stories and Tsuuzoku joushi (a popular collection of Joushi) which translated some selected pieces. In result, it was not easy to understand the specific standards for selection through comparing each anthology. For these reasons, the primary aim of this research was to investigate the character of Chengsa-huiju that we have newly discovered. We have generally looked through the related issues by comparing this character to other anthology and continue to examine the left issues from now on.
