영문 초록

The authors observed 3 cases of granular cell ameloblastoma of the mandible. Ameloblastomas of all types were considered to be locally aggressive, and invasive with a high propensity for recurrence. The granular cell variant is one of the most uncommon and controversial types of ameloblastom- described. The importance of these tumors lies in the recognition of granular cell component which is so prominent that may cause confusion concerning the correct diagnosis and treatment. With the review of literatures several considerable pathogenesises of granular cell change were discussed, ahd some characteristic histopathologic features in these 3 cases were described as followings; 1. Granular cells were usually found in the center of tumor follicle (case 1 and 2), their cells were enlarged and filled with eosinophilic granules, and nuclei were located eccentrically. (Fig. 6) 2. Two of three cases were recurred and had similar histologic feature to the primary lesions. 3. The case three showed tumor follicles which were completely replaced by granular cells with cuboided or columnar cells in periphery. 4. Multilocular radiolucency was found in the recurred lesion as in primary lesion.
