뮤지컬 ‘시집가는 날’ 공연에 나타난 분장에 관한 연구

국문 초록

뮤지컬은 음악, 춤, 연극적 요소를 모두 갖춘 종합적인 예술형태로서 그 특성상 규모가 크고 화려하며, 객석과 무대의 거리감이 존재하므로 관객에게 시각적으로 보다 정확하고 효과적인 전달이 가능하기 위해서는 무대미술과 분장, 의상, 조명 등 모든 디자인적 요소들의 역할이 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 우리나라 뮤지컬 공연에서 무대분장 분야를 좀 더 논리적이고 체계적으로 발전시키며 이론적 측면에서 무대분장의 기초 자료 제공에 도움이 되기 위해 무대분장의 개념을 정립하고 조명 및 의상과의 상관관계, 성격분장의 환경적 요인인 색채와 골상학과의 관계에 대해 살펴보았다. 작품속의 완벽한 인물을 창조하기 위해서는 대본을 충분히 읽고 등장인물의 성격을 색채, 골상 등의 환경적 요인을 고려하여 철저히 분석한 뒤 연출자의 연출기법과 연출의도를, 또한 연기자의 성격과 분위기까지도 파악하고 의상, 소품, 조명 등의 스텝들과의 긴밀한 협의를 거쳐 체계적인 분장 계획서와 디자인 작업이 이루어져야 함 을 알 수 있었다. 앞으로 무대분장의 발전이 계속 되어지기 위해서는 분장사들의 학문적 연구와 노력뿐 만이 아니라 공연 제작․기획자 등 무대공연 종사자들의 분장 분야에 대한 이해와 관심, 경제적 지원과 투자 또한 간과해서는 안 될 현안인 것이다.

영문 초록

Musical is a comprehensive art type equipped with musical, dance, and theatrical factors, characteristically large-scaled, and brilliant, and somewhat distant from the guest seat and the stage, so in order to make possible more correct and effective conveyance to an audience, the role of all design factors like the stage art, make-up, costume and illumination is very important. Thus this study established the concept of the stage make-up, and explored interrelation of illumination and costume, and relation with colors as an environmental factor, phrenology in order to more logically and systematically develop the field of the stage make-up in our country s musical performance, and help provide basic data for the stage make-up. To create the perfect character of a work, it could be found that a systematic design plan and a design work should be performed by full reading a script, and thorough analysis of environmental factors like colors, phrenology, grasping even the producer s production technique, and intention, and actors character and mood, close consultation with staffs of costume, properties, illumination. However, this study has its limitation in not presenting and using more traditional and Korean make-up technique and in the character expression of Korean creatures, and to get over such limitation, constant research and training on more experimental make-up expression technique should be continued.
