영문 초록

Organic farming is a production system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity without synthetic fertilizers and chemical pesticides. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the non-market value of organic farming. To accomplish an objective of the study, a consumer survey was conducted. Based on the pilot survey results, choice experiment method was used to evaluate the value people are willing to pay (WTP) for the non-market value of organic farming. The estimation results showed that total sum of the economic value of willingness to pay for the value amounts to 700 to 1,100 billion won, which is 2.2 to 3.5 times market value. And three classes were derived from the analysis of the latent class model. Therefore, findings can be used to change consumers’ recognitions for organic farming and to support organic farming.
