자본집약적 제조 산업에서 제품의 가격하락률을 고려한 최적 산출량 분석

국문 초록

자본집약적 제조 산업은 시설투자비가 높아 고정비 비용이 매우 높은 특징을 가졌으므로 전통적으로 규모의 경제 효과에 의한 산출량 증대가 매우 중요하다. 그러나 공급이 많은 소비자 시장에서는 제품의 가격하락이 급속하여 재고 가치가 하 락함으로 산출량 증대 정책의 실행은 종종 플로 타임의 증가를 가져와 재고를 증가시키므로 기업의 이익에 부정적 영향을 끼친다. 본 연구는 대기행렬 이론의 로지스틱 운영곡선(LOC; logistic operating curve)을 바탕으로 제품의 가격하락 률과 고정비 비용을 고려하여 최대의 이윤 달성을 위한 최적 산출량을 분석하고자 경제적 생산량 모형을 개발하였다. 선 행연구와는 다르게 제품이 생산된 후 판매되기까지의 현실적인 기간을 고려함으로써 산출량과 수요에 따른 재고수준을 모 형에 반영하였다. 본 연구의 모형을 실증적으로 분석한 결과 재고수준을 보다 현실적으로 고려함으로써 기존의 모형보다 정확한 분석이 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Enhancing the throughput rate resulting from economies of scale is a high priority in the capital intensive manufacturing industry (CIMI), an industry that requires a large amount of initial investment with a corresponding high fixed cost to produce goods. This high throughput policy may, however, reduce profits because of long flow times and very high inventory levels in fast-changing market environments. A sharp drop in inventory value worsens this effect. This study develops an economic production model to find the optimum throughput rate that maximizes profit by applying the product price decline rate of inventory in the CIMI. The model uses the Logistic Operating Curve (LOC) under queuing theory to capture the changes of inventory levels with variable throughput rates. Results of the numerical experiments show that a firm s profits are greatly impacted by the rates of throughput, demand and price decline. Since an appropriate throughput level enables a firm to maintain a reasonable level of flow time and inventory, the responsiveness to variable demand might be improved as well.
