공감, 판단의 독자성, 창의적 인성의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 공감, 판단의 독자성, 창의적 인성의 관계를 알아보는 것이다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다: 1) 창의적 인성 수준별 공감에 차이가 있는가?, 2) 공감과 창의적 인성의 관계는 어떤가?, 3) 공감과 판단의 독자성 수준별 창의적 인성에 차이가 있는가? 이다. 충남 소재 대학교 학생 117명에게 공감 검사와 KEDI 창의적 인성 검사를 실시하였다. 공감 검사는 크게 인지적 공감과 정서적 공감으로 구분되며, KEDI 창의적 인성검사는 호기심, 과제 집착, 심미성, 위험 감수, 사고의 개방성, 판단의 독자성으로 구성되었다. 자료 분석을 위해 Pearson의 적률상관분석과 변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째 창의적 인성(평균이상/평균이하)에 따른 공감 점수에 차이가 있었으며, 창의적 인성이 높은 집단이 낮은 집단보다 공감 점수가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 공감은 창의적 인성과 유의미한 정적 상관이 있었으며, 공감의 하위요인과 창의적 인성 하위요인의 상관분석결과 인지적 공감은 ‘판단의 독자성’을 제외한 창의적 인성의 모든 하위 요인과 유의미한 상관이 있었으며, 정서적 공감은 심미성, 사고의 개방성과 유의미한 상관이 있었다. 셋째, 공감(평균이상/평균이하)과 판단의 독자성(평균이상/평균이하)에 따른 창의적 인성 점수(판단의 독자성제외)에 주효과와 상호작용 효과가 있었으며, 공감과 판단의 독자성이 둘 다 높은 집단이 창의적 인성이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 창의적인 인물들은 독립적인 개별적 성향과 타인을 배려하는 관계적 성향을 동시에 가지고 있다는 선행 연구 결과를 지지하는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between empathy, independent judgement and creative personality. The research questions were: 1) difference in empathy depending on creative personality, 2) relationship between empathy and creative personality, 3) difference in creative personality depending on empathy and independent judgement. 117 university students participated in the Empathy Test and the KEDI Creative Personality Scale. The Empathy Test had two parts, cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. The KEDI Scale was composed of curiosity, task commitment, aesthetic impression, risk-taking, openness of thought, and independent judgement. The data were analyzed by Pearson s correlations and ANOVA. The results were as follows; first, Empathy Test scores were significantly different by creative personalities(above average/below average). Subjects in above average group showed higher Empathy Test scores than in below average group. Second, correlations between empathy-creative personality, between cognitive empathy-other subfactor of creative personality except independent judgement, and between emotional empathy-aesthetic impression and openness of though were significantly positive. Finally, the KEDI Scale scores were significantly different at empathy(above average/below average) and independent judgement(above average/below average). There were two main effects(empathy level and independent judgement level) and an interactive effect. Subjects with higher empathy showed higher KEDI Scale scores. Subjects with higher independent judgement showed higher KEDI Scale scores. Also Subjects who belong to the group of high level empathy-independent judgement showed higher KEDI Schale scores. The results are in accord with the previous research, which creative people have independent and attentive tendencies.
