국문 초록

도서정가제 이후 서점은 단순히 도서를 구매하는 공간이 아닌 라이프스타일 공간으로 탈바꿈하면서 독자와의 직접적인 소통전략을 시도하고 있다. 본 연구는 지역서점의 변화를 살펴보고, 지역출판과의 연계 가능성을 찾아보고자 하는 목적으로 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 지역서점 활성화에 대한 4가지 방안을 제시할수 있다. 첫째, 해당 지역 커뮤니티와 연계된 프로그램을 제공하는 복합문화공간 으로 거듭나야 한다. 다양한 독서 프로그램의 개발, 저자와의 대화, 북콘서트 진행 등 다양한 프로그램을 공유하면서 독자와 소통하는 역할을 수행해야 한다. 둘째, 정부의 정책지원을 통해 지역서점의 정보를 통합하여 활용할 수있도록 해야 한다. 셋째, 서점이 독서와 관련한 서비스 등을 통해 독서활성화를 이끄는 역할을 주도해야 한다. 넷째, 지역서점을 중심으로 만들어지는 이벤트를 주기적, 체계적으로 진행함으로써 지속가능성을 확보해야 한다. 마지막으로, 지역서점의 활성화를 위해 지역서점은 지역출판과의 지속적 협력방안을 마련할 필요가 있다고 하겠다. 이 연구는 탐색적 분석을 통해 지역서점과 관련된 향후 관련 연구를 위한 기초 자료를 제공한 데 있다. 마지막으로 연구의 한계와 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

After the “Fixed price book sales system”, the role of bookstores have changed from a space purchasing book to a space where readers share their lifestyle in order to communicate directly. The purpose of this study is to examine the changes of independent bookstores and seek possibility on ties with local publishers to vitalize independent bookstores. As a result, four ways to vitalize the independent bookstore are suggested. Firstly, bookstores need to provide local customers various programs such as development of reading programs, talks with authors and book concerts. Through these efforts, independent bookstores can be the multi-cultural spaces communicating with readers. Secondly, bookstores need to utilize the combined information of local bookstores supported by the government policies. Thirdly, bookstores should lead the role of vitalizing readings by providing book related services. Lastly,bookstores need to organize the book events continuously and systematically. In order to vitalize the independent bookstores, they have to cooperate with local publishers. This study contributes by providing the basic fundamental data on further related studies with the exploratory analysis. The limitations of the current study, and suggestions and implications for future studies were discussed.
