국문 초록

우리나라에서는 다문화사회를 지원할 수 있는 다양한 정책을 운영하고 있음에도 불구하고, 다문화구성원이 우리사회에 대한 공동체 의식은 낮은 수준에 그치고 있고, 사회에 대한 부적응과 차별에 대한 피해 의식은 범죄로 연결되는 양상을 보이고 있다. 특히 이주여성의 증가현 상은 우리사회에 시사하는 바가 크다고 할 수 있다. 이주여성들의 자녀인 2세대, 3세대로 확대되어 갈수록 사회적 문제와 이를 해결하기 위한 사회적 비용은 증대될 것으로 예측된다. 경찰의 다문화 지원활동은 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 경찰활동에 대한 다문화가정 구성원의 평가는 한국사회에 사회․문화적 동화정책에 커다란 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문이다. 우리는 지금까지의 경찰활동의 진행된 측면에서의 이주여성의 정체 성에 대해서 다시 한번 확인해볼 필요가 있다고 보여 진다. 이주여성이 바라보는 시각에서 경찰활동에 대한 평가수준이 범죄의 두려움에 미치는 영향을 분석해 보는 것이 본 연구의 주된 목적이다. 본 연구에서 경찰활동은 이주여성이 평상시에 접촉 또는 목격하는 경찰공무원들의 태도에 따라 범죄에 대한 두려움이 어떻게 차이가 나는가를 중심으로 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구에서 밝히는 경찰활동에 대한 이주여성의 인식수준에 따라, 범죄에 대한 두려움의 차이가 나타나는 현상은 향후 다문화 경찰활동의 개선을 위한 정책적 대안을 제시하는데 그 근거로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Even though Korea is operating various policies that support a multicultural society, the community spirit of multicultural members regarding Korean society is low and maladjustment to Korean society and a victim mentality regarding discrimination is leading to crime. In particular, the increase of migrated females has great implications for our society. As the children of migrated females expand into second and third generations, social issues and social costs to resolve these issues are expected to increase. The multicultural activities of the police play an important role. The assessment of multicultural family members regarding police activity can have a great effect on the social and cultural assimilation policies of Korean society. It seems that we must reconfirm the identity of migrated females from the progress of police activity thus far. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the effect that a fear of crime has on the assessment levels of police activity from the perspective of migrated females. This study was conducted with a focus on how a fear of crime differs according to the attitudes of police officials that migrated females come into contact with or witness. According to the perception levels of migrated females regarding police activity as revealed in this study, the differences that occur in a fear of crime can be used as a base for presenting policy alternatives for the future improvement of multicultural police activity.
