국문 초록

본 연구는 다양한 학습상황을 갖고 평생교육에 참여하는 중년기 여성학습자의 평생교육 참여성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 이들 변수들이 참여성과와 어떻게 구조적인 관계를 형성하는지 고찰하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 서울 및 경기도에 소재하는 평생교육기관에서 평생교육프로그램을 수강중인 여성학습자를 연구대상으로 선정하고 조사에 응답한 846명의 설문지를 분석하였다. 설정된 연구모형을 검증하기 위해 SPSS(18)와 Amos(18) 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였고 분석방법으로는 구조방정식을 활용하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 중년기 여성학습자의 학습자특성은 매개변인인 학습만족도에 미치는 영향은 통계적으로 유의하지 않지만, 평생교육 참여성과에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 외생변인으로 설정한 참여동기는 평생학습에 참여하는 중년기 여성학습자의 평생교육 참여성과에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 변인이면서, 학습만족도의 매개변인을 통해서 참여성과에 연결되어 간접 효과까지 미치고 있다. 셋째, 매개변인인 학습만족도는 평생교육 참여성과에 정적인 영향을 주는 요인 중 가장 큰 효과를 가지고 있는 변인인 것으로 나타났다. 학습만족도는 평생교육기관 차원의 준거들로서 중년기 여성학습자들의 참여성과에 영향을 미치는 학습과정상의 중요한 변인이라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the multi-phased effects and outcomes of middle-aged women learners who have participated in lifelong learning activities and to explore the proposed structural relationships among the four latent variables(i.e., learner characteristics, participatory motivation, learning satisfaction, lifelong education participation performance). The conclusion drawn from research is as follows: First, though the effect of learner characteristics of middle-aged women learners on learning satisfaction is statistically insignificant, it has a direct effect on the outcome of lifelong-education participation performance. Second, participatory motivation as an exogenous variable has a direct influence on the outcome of lifelong-education participation performance of middle-aged women learners as well as an indirect influence on the outcome of lifelong-education participation performance through a mediatory variable of learning satisfaction. Third, it reveals that learning satisfaction as a mediatory variable is the greatest causal variable influencing statically the outcome of lifelong-education participation performance. We can say that learning satisfaction as criteria for lifelong-education institutions is an important variable influencing the outcome of participation performance of middle-aged women learners throughout their learning process.
