융합과 창조경제 인프라가 국가경쟁력 강화에 미치는 영향: 중소기업의 실증분석을 중심으로

국문 초록

정보통신기술(ICT)의 고속성장은 이종 산업간 융합을 촉진시켜 산업간 경계를 허물고, 기업간 또는 기술간의 융·복합을 유발하여 가치사슬의 변화, 가치창출 요소의 변화, 새로운 시장 창출, 경쟁 영역 확대 등 새로운 패러다임의 변화를 통해 지속적 혁신을 요구하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 기업융합과 창조경제 인프라와 관련된 변인들이 국가경쟁력(일자리 창출, 생산성 향상, 무역 활성 화) 향상에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 중소기업을 대상으로 실증분석을 수행한 결과, 모든 융합과 관련된 요인들은 생산성을 향상시키는 주요 결정요소로 검증되었으며, 상대적으로 융합제품 혁신은 무역활성화와, 융합서비스 혁신은 일자리창출과 높은 관련성을 보였다. 또한, 한국의 제도적 조건하에서는 “비즈니스성장인프라(융합창업지원, 융합금융지원, 융합 클러스터 조성)”가 “아이디어생성인프라(융합 교육 제도, 융합 R&D 시스템)”와 “재도전시스템인프라(재창업 후원 시스템, 정직한 파산에 대한 지원체계)”보다 상대적으로 중요한 요소로 나타났다. 한편, 요소별 중요도는 융합 클러스터 조성, 융합 금융지원, 융합 재창업 시스템, 융합 R&D 시스템 순으로 나타 났다.

영문 초록

Convergence between heterogeneous industries accelerated by the advancements in information and communication technology (ICT) generates blurred industrial boundaries, while enlarging the boundaries of knowledge and the scope of competition. This leads to a rapid change in business and innovation environments, arising from variations in the value chain and value creation elements. This study empirically examined the link between the creation of convergence technologies and national competitiveness on the one hand, and the relative importance of institutional factors that shape a creative economy infrastructure boosting a convergence process on the other. The findings highlight the positive effect of product innovation through convergence between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on international trade and the positive effect of process innovation through convergence between SMEs on job creation in the context of Korea. We also found the relative importance of ‘creative economy infrastructure facilitating convergence business’ (self-employment support system, financial incentives and convergence technology clustering) in the development of national competitiveness, compared with ‘infrastructure facilitating convergence knowledge creation’ (multidisciplinary educational system and R&D support system) and ‘infrastructure facilitating re-challenge’ (financial support system for bankrupt firms and re-challengers undertaking start-ups). In terms of relative importance ranks in detail, clustering, financial incentives, financial support system for re-challengers undertaking start-ups and R&D support system were placed in the order named as core institutional conditions for the sustained growth in Korea.
