신석기시대 굴지구의 제작기법에 대한 연구

국문 초록

이 글은 신석기시대의 굴지구에 대한 제작기법을 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 분석 대상은 진그늘유적과 갈머리유적에서 출토된 완형의 굴지구를 선정하였다. 굴지구는 겉면에 나타난 흔적을 통해 4단계의 제작단계를 설정하고, 각 단계별 겉면 흔적과 연 구방법을 정리하였다. 그리고 날(인부)의 모습과 평면모습을 통해 5가지로 형태를 분 류하고, 각 단계별로 제작 특징을 살펴보았다. 굴지구의 기술적인 체계는 크게 돌감획득, 몸체마련, 1차 성형, 2차 성형 등 4가지 과정이 있는데, 돌감획득은 유적 주변에서 층리면이 발달한 석재를 채집하였고, 몸체 는 획득한 돌감(석재)을 가공하거나 격지로 떼어내어 형태를 마련하였다. 그리고 1차 성형에는 빗겨치기를 통해 각 형태에 맞게 세부적으로 조정하였고, 미흡한 점은 2차 성형의 잔손질을 통해 마름질을 하였다. 고 최종적으로는 날의 위치를 선정한 후 모양을 마련하고, 자루장착과 관련된 홈을 만들었다. 이러한 제작체계는 두 가지의 제작기술로 정리될 수 있다. 하나는 자갈(켜면) 몸체선 정 후 그 자체를 가공한 경우이고, 다른 하나는 몸체선정에 있어 대형격지를 떼어내어 가공한 경우이다. 각 기술은 형태에 따라 선택적으로 적용되었는데, 전체적으로 구석기 의 기술체계에 비해 단순하다. 그러나 사용목적의 변화에 따른 기술 변화의 관점에서 보면 보다 효율적인 제작기술로 볼 수 있다. 요컨대, 굴지구의 제작기법은 크게 4단계의 과정을 거치면서 2개의 제작기술을 적용하여 이루어졌다고 말할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study is on method of making Guljigu in New Stone Age. The object of analysis is Guljigu excavated at Jingeuneul and Galmeori site. Guljigu consists of four stages through the traces found on the surface. It arranges external traces by each stage and is classified into fie types through edge and plane. Features of each stage can be described as follows. Technical system of Guljigu has four processes including acquisition of stone materials, preparation of body, the first molding and the second molding. Raw materials were acquired around relics and raw materials had developed stratiform structures. Body was prepared by processing raw materials or detaching it to large flakes. And the first molding was made by vertical and oblique striking, and the second molding was done by a small touch. Finally edge and groove were made. Such an industry system is summarized in two. One is processing gravel itself and the other is processing by detaching large flakes. Each technique was preferred depending on the form of Guljigu and this technique was relatively simpler than technical systems in Old Stone Age. But from the changes of using stonewares in New Stone Age, this technique was obviously advanced. To sum up, method of making Guljigu consists of four stages and this process applied two techniques.
