구전(Oral Tradition)의 관점에서 발견되는 마가와 Q의 관계성

국문 초록

지금까지 마가와 Q의 관계성에 대해 문자적 관점에서 비교, 연구되어왔다. 두 문서 이전에 구전이 역할을 했으리라는 점에 있어서는 의심하지는 않았지만, 최후 형성단계에서는 문서들의 조합, 편집, 또는 의존관계가 있으리라 여겨져 왔다. 하지만 1990년대부터 마가복음서에서 구전의 강한 영향성을 인정하면서부터 Q에게도 새로운 인식이 요구될 필요가 있다고 본다. 즉, 마가복음서가 담가의 구연에 의해 통으로 형성되었듯이, Q 역시 구전에서 자유로울 수 없기 때문이다. 그리고 구전의 관점에서 비교하면, 결코 복음서의 형성이 기자가 문서들을 편집, 유연성, 안정성, 정확성, 그리고 맞춤성의 성격을 지니고 있는 구전의 관점아래, Q를 다시 듣고, 읽는다면 문자적 관점에서 발견되지 못했던 점들을 또 발견할 수 있는 기회를 마련할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The texts of Mark and Q were created in the middle of prevalent oral culture in the first century. The Gospel of Mark has grown to be a subject of interpretation from the view of oral performance. It shows variance in terms of numbers, places and names which the folklorist regards is a significant characteristic of oral literature. Besides it holds many oral devices of rhetoric for storyteller to perform the story in front of the Markan audience. It is stated that Mark is a work derived from oral performances as a whole. Considered Q spoken in oral media world, it also needs to be interpreted in the view of performance criticism due to many traces of oral transmission, though still being read in the boundary of literary criticism. So far in the relationship with the Gospel of Mark, it has unsolved problems of the intertextual analysis. Oral tradition has both of flexibility and fixity, and of stability and diversity at the same time. The gospel-teller would narrate the story of Jesus with limited freedom to the audience who would know it well as much as him. James D. G. Dunn states that the differences between the Gospel of Matthew and of Luke are better explained in the angle of oral tradition than in the literary criticism. Therefore he asserts not alone the Gospel of Mark but also other gospels should be read out by means of oral tradition. There are four characteristics of oral tradition misunderstood for a long time: flexibility, stability, accuracy and adjustment. If one comprehends the properties of oral performance, he or she will get more opportunities to understand the gospels in the aspects of their contents, gist and the audience.
