초등 영재아와 일반아의 어머니 양육관련 변인, 내재동기, 창의적 성향 간의 구조 관계 분석

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 어머니의 자율성 지지, 어머니와 자녀관계, 어머니의 학습관여 변인을 초등영재아의 창의적 성향 발현에 영향을 끼치는 변인으로 선정하고 영재아의 내재적 동기와의 구조적 관계를 살펴보았다. 연구대상은 수도권 소재 초등학교 4학년에서 6학년에 재학 중인 일반학생들 673명과 수도권 소재 대학부설 과학영재교육원과 지역교육청 영재교육원과 영재학급에 선발되어 영재교육을 받고 있는 초등학교 4학년에서 6학년 학생들 673명이다. 각 변인들이 어떤 구조적 관계가 있는지 알아보기 위해 구조적 모형 검증을 실시한 결과, 영재아는 어머니의 자율성 지지와 어머니의 학습관여가 내재적 동기를 매개하여 창의적 성향에 영향을 미쳤다. 일반아는 어머니와 자녀관계가 내재적 동기에 직접 영향을 미치고, 어머니의 학습관여가 내재적 동기를 매개하여 창의적 성향에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 영재아의 특성에 맞게 자율성을 지지하며 아동을 존중하는 학습관여를 하는 것이 중요하며, 일반아는 아동이 심리적 안정감을 가질 수 있도록 부모자녀관계를 잘 맺고 아동의 능력과 의견을 존중하는 학습관여를 하며 양육하는 것이 바람직하다는 함의가 도출되었다.

영문 초록

In this study, some variables (independence support by a child’s mother, child’s relationship with his/her mother, and mother’s participation in her child’s study) were set as variables that may influence the child’s development of his/her creativity; the variables’ relation with children’s intrinsic motivation was studied. Subjects included 673 of non-gifted 4th to 6th graders attending elementary schools in the capital area and 673 of gifted children of the same age group currently taking courses in university-affiliated gifted education academy, school district gifted education center, or classes for gifted children. Results of structural model analysis, conducted to see what structural relation each variable had with children’s intrinsic motivation, showed that gifted children’s intrinsic motivation is a mediator in the relation between mother’s independence support and participation in study and children’s creativity. In the case of the non-gifted group, the relationship with mother directly affected the children’s intrinsic motivation, and mother’s participation in study affected their child’s creativity, having intrinsic motivation as a mediator. Thus, it has been deduced that the best way to nurture their creativity is to support and respect gifted children’s independence and characteristics when intervening in their studies as well as maintain a healthy relationship for non-gifted children’s psychological stability and show respect for the children’s abilities and opinions.
