영문 초록

The main purpose of this study is to discuss the possibility to apply the postmodem theories into planning paradigm. This study shows the following discussions on major arena of planning as follow. First, in terms of comprehensiveness, our community is not a simple aggregate of sector but a dynamic whole. So we ought to consider of totality of community. And we should induce the cultural logic, economic traits of postmodem. Second, in terms of rationality, we should criticize the instrumental rationality and foundational truth. And we should invite the undistorted communication, discursive method and altemative approach for optimum solution. Third, in terms of power, we should reconsider the value neutrality because of value and moral oriented in planning. Thus planner should be more sensitive and active with the surrounding political and power context for more efficient planning. Fourth, in terms of differentiation, most postmodern scholars emphasized the fragmented and dispersed factors. Thus we should positively induce the differentiation, dispersion, pluralism and locality for planning. Fifth, in terms of culture, we should induce the attributes and characteristics of information age and globalization age as well as sensibility of postmodern for planning.
