영문 초록

While agriculture and rural society suffer from losing viable economic value in terms of labor market and economic goods and services, recent resurgence of rurality is widely regarded as a salvage for it’ s revival. Such multifunctionality of agriculture and rural area as agricultural landscape and cultural heritage values, environmental outputs, rural viability and employment, food security is best known as the rural renaissance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of landscape of rural society, which is less cultivated in the study of multifunctionality. We applied CVM(contingent valuation method) to evaluate the value of landscape of rural society. This study found that the value of landscape of rural society in annum is about 1.32 trillion. While the value implies that sustaining rural landscape is regarded as important one for people in Korea, the value has been diminished a lot comparing the results of the previous studies that have been carried out 2-3 years ago. We suspect that losing market competence of agricultural goods and rural society may be key factors that explain this abatement. We conclude with some policy implications and suggesting future studies.
