국문 초록

연구목적: 본고는 부산의 경제상황을 파악하여 자생력 확보를 위한 수출상품과 비교우위 변화를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 논문구성/논리: 세계화와 지역주의 확대로 기존 국가 간 경쟁에서 도시 간 경쟁으로 전환되면서 도시의 경쟁력이 국가의 경쟁력을 규정하게 되었다. 이러한 의미에서 부산의 지역경제 침제는 전체 경제성장에 저해요인으로 작용 할 수 있다는 점에서 경제현상을 파악하고 이를 측정하여 자생적 성장을 위한 처방을 내려 지속적인 관리를 필요로 하다. 본 연구에서는 부산경제의 문제점을 파악하여 지역경제가 성장으로 전환할 수 있는 계기를 수출상품과 산업을 통해 분석하고자 한다. 결과: 분석결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 전국대비 부산의 지역경제 비중이 점점 감소하고 있다. 이는 산업의 역동성이 매우 낮다는 것으로 해석할 수 있으며 비교우위 변화에 영향을 미친다. 실제로 2000년대 이후 지속적으로 비교우위의 값이 하락하고 있다. 특히 현저하게 비교우위 값이 하락한 철강 및 비금속 제품의 경우 지역경제를 견인하여 왔다는 점에서 부산경제의 침체를 반영하고 있다. 이러한 현상은 전국 비교우위와 비교하여도 값이 하락하고 비교우위 격차가 확대되어 지역경제 성장의 한계에 왔음을 시사하고 있다. 따라서 경제변화에 대해 적응할 수 있는 산업구조의 변화가 필요한 시점에 왔다고 할 수 있다. 독창성/가치: 본 연구는 부산경제가 놓인 상황을 파악하여 지속성장을 위한 자생력을 함양의 방안을 모색하기 위해 수출상품의 비교우위와 산업의 역동성을 중심으로 분석하였다. 이러한 분석방법은 경제상황을 파악하는 것에 중심을 둔 기존의 연구와 차별화 된다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study investigates Busan's economic condition and analyzes the changes in export products and industries of comparative advantage for self-sufficiency. Composition/Logic: Primarily due to expanding globalization and regionalism, there has been a shift from international competition to inter-city competition. Currently, a city's competitiveness determines that of its nation’s. Thus, Busan’s sluggish economy may be one of the factors hindering economic growth across the board, which warrants constant management based on the apprehension of economic phenomena and relevant measurement for a diagnosis that leads to self-sufficient growth. The present study identifies problems related to Busan's economy and analyzes export products and industries to find opportunities that could improve the city’s economy. Findings: This analysis revealed the following findings and conclusions. Since the 2000s, the value of comparative advantage in Busan has fallen continuously due to the city’s low industrial dynamics. The comparative advantage of steel and non-metallic products, usually drivers of the local economy, has been particularly affected, illustrating the extent of the city’s economic stagnation. As a result, the importance of Busan’s local economy has decreased gradually compared to the national level. The foregoing stagnant trend, in tandem with the price drops and expanding gaps in comparative advantage, is worse than the national level. Accordingly, the time has come to change the industrial structure to adapt to any change in economic conditions. Originality/Value: In order to seek some alternative for the enhancement of self-sufficiency and achieve continuous growth by understanding Busan's economic condition, the present study analyzes the comparative advantage of export products and the dynamics of industries. This analytical approach is distinct from the previous studies that focused solely on understanding the economic condition.
