질 들뢰즈(Gilles Deleuze)의 몸 담론의 교육적 의미

국문 초록

본고는 들뢰즈의 몸에 대한 담론을 탐구하고, 그것을 통해 우리 교육의 문제점을 알아보며, 몸 담론으로부터 얻을 수 있는 새로운 교육적 의미를 발견하고자 한다. 들뢰즈는 ‘기관 없는 신체’라는 몸 개념을 통해 몸을 욕망의 강렬도에 따라 무한한 변용 역량의 잠재성이 실현되는 ‘생성적’ 장소로 보았다. 이러한 몸에 대한 이해는 기존의 근대철학에서 무시한 몸의 끊임없는 인 식능력이 발현되는 곳임을 드러내는 것이어서 기존의 이성중심의 교육철학을 수정할 수밖에 없도록 한다. 몸이 앎의 생성을 위한 주된 역할을 수행하는 것임을 염두에 둔다면, 이것은 교육이라는 장에서 몸의 복권을 요청한다. 들뢰즈에 있어 이성, 정신, 마음, 의식과 같은 형이상학적 교육용어들은 그것이 육화된 경험으로 나타날 때 비로소 제 기능을 수행할 수 있다. 몸은 이성이나 정신을 담아내는 그릇 정도가 아니라, 오히려 그것들이 생겨나고 작동하는 뿌리이며 토양이다. 이에 본고는 들뢰즈의 배움을 구현하는 하나의 방법으로 ‘낯선 몸-되기’를 제시하였다. 일상화된 몸의 감각을 낯설게 만들게 되면, 새로운 몸의 감각을 통해 배우는 내용이 다르게 보이고 해석된다. 더 나아가 기존의 삶의 방식이나 세계의 질서 속에 감춰져 있던 의미를 새롭게 발견할 수 있다. 그런 점에서 앞으로의 교육철학자들은 욕망이 자유롭게 순환하고 통과하는 ‘충만 한 몸’에 대한 긍정의 힘에 보다 많은 관심을 가져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

In the classroom, students learn while watching, feeling and understanding each other's various gestures. In this respect, to understand body is the basis of education research, also, the foundation of educational activity. Research on Deleuze's body discourse intended to provide an opportunity to critically reflect the problems of today's education, also, a new educational implication that could be got from the body. The study results are as follows. First, Deleuze viewed body as a 'creative' place where infinite potential of change capacity according to intensity of desire through the concept of 'CsO'. Such understanding of body enables desire to freely circulate and pass, accordingly, it positively acts in 'full body' that creates new 'self' every moment. Second, now body performs the major role, not the assistant role that assists the mental area, which requests restoration of body in the field of education. For Deleuze, rationality, mentality, mind, and consciousness can perform their own function when they appear through physical experience. Third, this research suggested 'Becoming-unfamiliar body', as a method of realizing Deleuze's learning. 'Becoming-unfamiliar body' disassembles students' conventional way of thinking and suggests new challenge and stimulation to current habituated way of understanding. In other words, students could learn that their viewpoint is partial through this 'becoming-unfamiliar body', furthermore, get a sight to newly discover the significance hidden in the existing way of life or the order of the world.
