An Empirical Study on the Impact of Tourism and Tourism Development as Perceived by Local Residents and Civil Servants

국문 초록

축제 및 관광개발과정에는 지역주민, 관광사업체, NGO, 정부, 지방의회 등 많은 이해관계자들이 관여하고 되는데, 본 연구에서는 이들 이해관계자들 중 축제를 직접 운영하고, 직/간접적으로 영향을 받고 있는 거주민과 공무원들이 인식하는 관광영향과 관광개발에 대해 실증적 연구를 실시하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 강화도축제를 통해서 거주민과 공무원들이 인식하는 관광영향이 관광개발에 미치는 영향을 알아보았고, 이 두 집단 간의 축제로 인한 관광영향과 관광개발의 차이를 알아보았다. 거주민의 경우 총 270부의 설문지를 강화도 전 지역에 배포하여 성실하게 응답하지 않은 설문지를 제거한 후 240(89%)부를 본 연구의 분석 자료로 사용하였고, 공무원의 경우, 강화군청을 중심으로, 그 외의 강화도 정부기관을 대산으로 250부를 배포하여 훼손되거나 공란이 많은 8부를 제외한 242부(97%)를 최종 분석에 이용하였다. 분석결과, 부정적인 사회적 및 환경적 영향은 관광상품개발에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 긍정적인 사회적 및 경제적 영향은 관광시설개발에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 거주민과 공무원간의 축제로 인한 관광영향과 관광개발에 대한 인식차이 결과, 거주민이 공무원보다 관광영향 중 긍정적인 주민의식, 부정적인 환경영향, 긍정적인 문화기반영향에서 더 높은 관광영향인식을 보이고 있었으며 반대로, 공무원은 거주민보다 관광상품 및 관광시설을 더 개발할 필요가 있다고 인식하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify the effects of the impact of tourism by festivals on the local residents and civil servants' perceptions of tourism development and differences between local residents and civil servants in terms of their perceptions of the impact of tourism and development. A total of 270 copies of the questionnaire were distributed to local residents across Gonghua Island, and the 240 fully answered copies (89%) were used as the data for the final analysis. A total of 250 copies of the questionnaire were also distributed to civil servants working at the Gonghwa Island County Office and other public offices. A total of 242 fully answered and undamaged copies (97%) were used for the final analysis. The results were as follows. firstly, positive social and economic effects exert a significant positive influence on the perceptions of developing tourism facilities. Secondly, negative environmental effects have a significant negative affect on the perceptions of developing tourism products. Finally, the two groups(local residents and civil servants) had statistically significant differences in their perceptions of the impact of tourism and tourism development.
