산수유람록에 나타난 先人들의 觀光意識 일고찰

국문 초록

본 논문은 韓國觀光史 서술의 전단계가 되는, 근대이전의 관광현상을 체계적으로 이해하기 위한 한 과정으로 시도되었다. ‘문헌자료인 산수유람록에 드러난 선인들의 관광행위와 양상은 구체적으로 어떠했는가’라는 의문을 해결하기 위한 연구의 일환으로, 금강산 유람록 26편을 분석대상으로 삼아 거기에 투영된 先人들의 觀光意識을 살폈다. 문헌자료와 선행 論著의 철저한 내용 분석에 의거하여, 본고에서 밝힌 사항들을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 현대의 가상관광과 의미가 유사한 선인들의 와유관광현상에 나타난 臥遊意識을 3갈래로 나누어 고찰하였다. 곧 선인들의 산수유람록에는 유람 전 와유의식, 유람현지에서의 와유의식, 유람 후 와유의식이 각각 드러남을 구체적으로 파악하였다. 이어 유람의 興보다는 안전을 더 중시하는 安全重視意識을 살폈다. 선인들은 유람록에서 안전을 중요시하는 유람관을 표출하면서 후인들에게 경계의 말을 남기고 있는데, 이러한 안전중시의식은 유람현지에서의 와유의식과도 어느 정도 맞물려 있다. 끝으로 금강산 유람록에 드러난 선인들의 기타 觀光意識을 고찰하였다. 금강산을 찾은 대부분의 사대부들은 합리적 사고로써 불교의 허탄함을 비판하고 있으며, 비로봉 정상에 올라 ‘登泰山而小天下’ 意識을 느끼고 浩然之氣를 맛보았다. 또한 愛民意識과 현실적 유람관, 은일의식 등을 드러냈다. 아울러 유람의 목적이 자기계발과 군자의 마음을 淸淨하게 하는 데 있다고 보았고, 자연의 위대함과 인간의 왜소함을 극명하게 느끼기도 했다.

영문 초록

This study is aimed at researching the tourism consciousness of the Joseon dynasty gentry revealed in their trip accounts of landscape as a first step for writing Korean tourism history. To solve the question about the Joseon dynasty gentry's tourism behavior and aspect as are shoun in trip accounts of landscape, I hove studied the 26 trip accounts of Mt Geumgang and grasped the tourism consciousness of the gentry. Research findings through analyzing documentary records materials and preceding treatises were as follows; First, I divided into three and studied the lying-dawn consciousness of the gentry through their lying-down tourism phenomena which can be similar to today's virtual tourism. That is, there were lying-down consciousness before excursion, lying-down consciousness during excursion and lying-down consciousness ofter excursion. The I looked into their safety consciousness which was regarded more importantly than their interests in excursions. The gentry were expressing their safety consciousness in trip accounts of Mt Geumgang, such safety consciousness is related to lying-down consciousness at excursion sites. Finally, other tourism consciousness is as follows. Those gentry who visited Mt Geumgang criticised groundless stories of Buddhism with their rational thinking. They felt a vast-flowing spirit at the peak of Birobong. They also disclosed their love of the people, realistic consciousness of excursions, and seclusion consciousness Furthermore, they sow that the purpose of excursions lied in purifying a noble man's mind as well as self-improvement, and felt the greatness of nature and the smallness of human beings
