새로운 교장임용제도로서 ‘교장보직공모제’의 가능성 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 Cotton(2003)이 제시한 훌륭한 교장의 특성 다섯 가지를 준거로 하여, 현행 교장승진제와 새로운 교장보직공모제 간의 교사들의 인식을 비교․분석하여 새로운 교장임용제도로서 교장보직공모제의 가능성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법 으로는 두 종속(대응)표본 t 검증을 실시하였고 모든 자료처리는 SPSSWIN Statistics 22.0을 사용하여 처리하였다. 연구 결과, Cotton(2003)이 제안하였던 훌륭한 교장의 특성 다섯 가지 중 네 가지 영역(학업성취에 대한 강조, 활발한 상호작용과 좋은 관계 유지, 공동체적 학교문화 조성, 교수(teaching) 리더십 발휘)에서, 현행 교장승진제와 새로운 교장보직공모제 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 같은 연구 결과는 현재의 교장승진제보다 교장보직공모제가 훌륭한 교장의 특성을 학교현장에서 더욱 반영할 수 있다는 것을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study explores the possibility of a new publicly recruited appointment system of school principals by comparing analysis recognized as conforming to the characteristics of teachers between five great teachers who are present, principals appointed through promotion, and the new publicly recruited appointment system of school principals that Cotton(2003) has suggested. Research methods are dependent(response) and were performed using samples t verify all data processing was processed using SPSSWIN Statistics 22.0. Cotton(2003) proposed these great principal characteristics of four of the five areas (the emphasis on academic achievement, active interaction and good relations, and community school culture, teaching leadership demonstrate). The current study showed that a statistically significant difference between the current and the new publicly recruited appointment system of school principals exists. These results suggest that a publicly recruited appointment system of school principals more accurately demonstrates the characteristics of great principals in the current school than current principals appointed through promotion.
