국문 초록

본 논문은 자발적 청빈이 현대세계에 어떠한 의미를 갖고 있는지를 살피고자 한다. 빈곤은 인간이 풀어야 할 핵심문제임에도 불구하고 해결책은 언제나 충분하지 않은 채 머무를 뿐이었다. 빈곤은 단지 국가사회가 해결해야만 하는 문제로 남아있지 않고 교회도 그 해법을 제시해야 한다. 빈곤문제에 대한 해결책은 다양하게 제시되어왔다. 본 논문은 자발적인 청빈이 하느님 나라를 준비하는 예표라는 면에서 이냐시오의 청빈 영성을 소개하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 청빈에 대해서 새롭게 환기를 시킨 교종 프란치스코의 행적을 살핀다. 나아가서 가난함이 성경과 이스라엘 그리고 교회의 역사를 통해서 어떻게 이해되었는지를 일괄한다. 또한 본 논문의 본문이 될 수 있는 이냐시오의 행적에서 나타나는 청빈이 어떻게 이해될 수 있는지를 살피고 나아가 그의 청빈이해가 오늘날 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지를 결론으로써 제안할 것이다. 이냐시오의 청빈 사상은 신학적인 면에서는 성부론적ㆍ그리스도론적ㆍ사도적인 차원에서 이해된다. 청빈은 이냐시오에 의하면 하느님 아버지로부터 파견되어 그리스도와 함께 가난한 삶을 영위하면서 하느님 백성의 구원을 위하여 그들과 연대하면서 사도들처럼 봉사하는 것이다. 이냐시오에게 있어서 청빈은 단지 의무에서 오는 것이 아니라 하느님에 대한 사랑과 이웃영혼의 구원의 차원에 근거한다고 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper researches the meaning of voluntary poverty in the modern world. Poverty is a key problem which human beings need to solve, but the answers always remain insufficient. It is a problem that needs to be dealt with not just by civic society, but also needs direction from the Church. Of the various approaches that have been proposed, this paper presents one, that of the spirituality of poverty of Ignatius of Loyola, for whom voluntary poverty is the sign of the preparation of the kingdom of God. To exemplify this approach, the paper introduces the teachings and actions of Pope Francis, who shows us a new dimension of poverty. It then discusses how poverty has been defined and understood in the historical settings of the Bible, Israel and the Church. As its main point, the paper researches the understanding and actions of Ignatius. At the end, it offers considerations about the contemporary implementation of his spirituality of poverty. The Ignatian spirit of poverty can be understood in its theo-logical, christological and apostolic dimensions. Poverty accords with Ignatius’ life style of apostolic service in solidarity with the people of God, sent by God the Father, in the same life-pattern of Jesus Christ, who lived in poverty. This poverty is not a matter of obligation; it is based on love of and for God and includes the dimension of salvation of the souls of the neighbor.
