국문 초록

본 논문은 교회헌장(Lumen Gentium)이 오늘날 갖는 중요성에 주목하면서 이 헌장을 고찰하였다. 본 논문은 우리시대를 위한 그러한 의미가, 문헌에서 나타나고 있고 또 공의회 이후의 교회론을 자극할 수 있는 개별적 입장이나 형식 안에서라기보다는, 헌장의 핵심에 있는 해석학적 기초에서 탐구되어야 한다고 보았다. 이 관점은 공의회 교부들이 가톨릭 교리들의 모든 커다란 주제들에 대한 자신들의 성찰을 설명했던 그 사고의 근본적 지평과 조화를 이루는 가운데에서 교회헌장을 해석될 때 충분히 명료해질 수 있다. 예수 그리스도 안에서의 삼위일체 하느님의 계시가 이 해석학적 관점의 중심에 있다. 즉 계시의 빛으로 교회론을 포함한 각 주제를 다루는 것이다. 본 논문은 먼저 칼 라너가 어떻게 그것을 구체화하였는지 설명하면서 교회헌장의 해석을 발전시켰다. 이 예수회 신학자는 삼위일체 계시를 신학의 핵심으로 보았는데, 왜냐하면 그것이, 그리스도라는 위격 안에서 성부 하느님이 참으로 드러나셨기 때문에 그 위격을 “실재상징”으로 보는 관점에 기초하고 있는, 신자들의 사고를 적합하게 설명할 수 있게 하기 때문이다. 교회에 대한 이러한 관점에서 이 논문은 교회헌장 안에 어떻게 “상징의 논리”에 부합하는 해석학적 관점이 있는지를 설명하였다. 그것은 개별 주교와 주교단, 주교와 지역교회, 지역교회와 보편교회, 등등, 하나의 실재가 다른 실재에 의해 상징화되는 관계들을 다루는 곳곳에서 명시적 혹은 함축적으로 나타나고 있다. 이 용어로 교회헌장을 해석한다는 것은 교회와 그리고 본질적으로 교회의 부분인 모든 것을 상징적으로 특징지을 수 있게 한다. 본 논문은 교회와 그 본질적 요소들에 대한 상징적 이해의 핵심에서, 그리스도의 위격의 상징적 본성의 핵심에 있는 것과 동일한 진리, 즉 그리스도의 삼위일체적 기원의 실체적 및 관계적 정체성을 발견하게 된다는 것을 주장한다. 이 진리는 우리로 하여금 교회적인 모든 것은 실체적으로 관계적이라는 것을 주장하게 한다.

영문 초록

This contribution reflects on Lumen gentium from the point of view of its relevance today. However, its meaning for our times should not be sought in individual positions or formulations that are taken up in the document and that are considered important because they are capable of stimulating postconciliar ecclesiology. Instead, I believe its importance for today lies in the hermeneutical foundation at the core of the Constitution. I believe that this viewpoint is made sufficiently clear when Lumen gentium is interpreted in harmony with the fundamental horizon of thought with which the Council Fathers explained their reflections on all of the great themes of Catholic doctrine. At the center of this hermeneutic stands the Revelation of the Triune God in Jesus Christ, or rather the decision to treat each theme, including ecclesiology, sub Revelationis luce. The Author develops this interpretation of Lumen gentium first by explaining how it was concretized by Karl Rahner. The Jesuit theologian views trinitarian Revelation as central for theology because it permits an adequate explanation of the thinking of believers that is founded on a vision of the person of Christ as “real symbol” in as much as God the Father is really manifested in Him. According to Rahner what is true of Christ is true also of the Church, because the latter is also a “real symbol” (sacrament) of Christ’s presence in the midst of men. In the light of this vision of the Church, the Author explains how in Lumen gentium, there is, in effect, a hermeneutic outlook that adheres to the “logic of symbol”. It emerges explicitly or implicitly in those places in the Constitution that touch upon the relationship between individual bishop and the college of bishops, or bishop and the local Church, or local Church and universal Church, an so on, relationships through which one reality is symbolized by the other. Interpreting Lumen gentium in these terms signifies admitting that the Church and all that essentially is part of it are characteristically symbolic. The Author demonstrates that at the core of this symbolic understanding of the Church and of its essential elements one always finds that same truth that is at the core of the symbolic nature of the person of Christ: His substantial relational identity of trinitarian origin. This truth demands that we affirm that all that is ecclesial is substantially relational.
