로마의 맥락에서 보는 Q와 도마복음의 포스트모던 해석학

국문 초록

이 글은 Q1과 도마복음에 나타난 포스트모던(postmodern)한 차원의 신학적 사유방식이 어떻게 21세기의 새로운 신학의 패러다임에 기여할 수 있는지 탐구하는 것이다. 우리는 우선 Q1에 나타난 하나님 나라의 지혜 말씀 이해와 연관된 쟁점에 관해서 특히 자연에 관한 본문들(13:20-21과 12:22-25)은 과연 현대의 포스트모던 해석학적 과제로서 이성과 계시, 성과 속, 몸과 영혼의 이원론을 극복하는 특징들을 가지고 있는지, 또한 어떤 방식으로 로마제국의 이데올로기에 대항하는 정치적 의미를 내포하는지에 기술하게 될 것이다. 특히 이 논문은 위의 두 본문만이 아니라 몇 가지 예수의 자연관을 암시하는 다른 본문들(Q 13:19-21, 12:22-25, 15:5-7)을 재해석하고 주석함으로써 이전에 논의한 홀슬리(R. Horsley)와 크로산(J. D. Crossan), 그리고 맥(B. L. Mack)의 해석학적 관점을 평가하고, Q1에서 급격한 정통주의가 제안하는 포스트 모던한 해석학적 통찰을 새롭게 도출하고자 한다. 특히 Q1의 창의적인 저항정신을 포스트 모던한 신학적 과제와 함께 성찰하는 새로운 방식의 反문화적 신학이 헬라적 견유철학적 상상력과 유대의 지혜신학을 융합시킨 창의적 사유를 내포하고 있다는 점을 부각시키고자 한다. 이러한 Q1의 포스트 모던한 급진적인 신학적 사유는 새로운 로마제국의 환경이 형성되었을 때에는 Q2의 묵시문학적 사유를 끌어올 수밖에 없었기 때문에, 도마복음은 Q1 보다는 훨씬 더 '저항적인' 포스트모던 신학적 사유를 제기함으로써 완전히 새로운 형식의 공동체 실험을 실행하게 된다. 그렇다면 우리는 도마복음이 어떻게 위의 세 가지 이원론을 이론적 차원만이 아니라 저항의 프락시스의 차원을 해석학적으로 고찰하고, 이전의 도마복음 학자들이 논의하는데 소홀히 하였던 로마제국 사회정치 이데올로 기를 비판하였던 점을 제시하고 도마복음의 이데올로기 비판 방식의 참신성을 부각시키고자 한다. 이를 위해서 우선 우리는 도마복음 55, 101의 십자가와 연관된 제자직이 Q와 어떻게 다른지 논의함으로써 원시기독교의 케리그마적인 전형적인 구원론적 의미를 내포하지 않더라도 어떻게 예수 자신처럼 되어 하나님과 자기 자신이 일치되는 종교체험 사건을 통해서 친족공동체와 단절하고 폭력의 존재론과 상관없는 도마공동체의 구원의 해석학적 열쇠를 제시하게 되었는지 고찰하게 될 것이다. 이러한 평화의 비폭력적 신학적 사유는 결국 로마제국에 대해서 가장 창의적으로 비판하는 포스트모던적 저항의 이데올로기 비판 전략을 드러내게 된다. 하지만 도마복음의 저자는 로마제국의 모순을 감추고 유대교와 Q1과 논박적 정황이 되었을 때, 묵시문학적 사유를 동원하여 하나님 나라를 예수운동의 사회운동과 관련되는 구속신학과 연결시키는 것이 아니라, 하나님과 그리스도인의 영혼이 서로 융합됨으로써 그리스도의 지혜를 매개로 로마제국과의 충돌을 피하면서 제국의 근거를 해체시키는 하나님의 비밀스러운 영지적 지혜와 연결시킴으로써 로마제국주의 이데올로기를 암시적으로 비판하고 있다는 것을 제시하였다. 특히 이 논문은 도마복음의 1, 3, 113, 114에 나타난 하나님 나라를 지혜문학적 전승의 통찰에 의해서 어떻게 사회적 정체성을 확립하면서 로마제국에 저항하는 창의적인 신학적 사유 방식을 고찰하고자 한다. 우리는 이 고찰을 통해서 도마복음서의 저자가 하나님의 나라를 공동체의 구성 조건으로 해석했는지(케랜 킹) 아니면 영혼의 혼례식으로 해석하였는지 (최병수), 그리고 그렇게 했다면, 어떻게, 그리고 어떤 문화적 맥락과 로마제국의 이데올로기에 맞서서 투쟁할 수 있었는지 탐구하게 될 것이다. 여기에서 우리는 도마복음의 하나님 나라에 대한 신학적 통찰이 단지 내적인 공동체의 정체성과 사회적 구성을 목적으로 구성되었다고 주장하는 판단을 비판하게 될 것이다. 우리는 도마복음에 나타난 하나님의 나라는 그리스도의 말씀 전승과 함께 바로 이데올로기적 환상("ideological phantasy")을 투사하는 방식으로 로마제국과의 모순과 유대교와 Q의 궁극적 모순을 극복하는 저항정신을 나타낸다고 확신한다. 따라서 이러한 도마복음의 지혜 말씀은 로마 제국의 폭력을 통한 평화의 통치이데올로기와 기독교 내부에서 형성된 케리그마 신학의 주류문화를 동시에 비판하는 새로운 형식의 화해의 평화신학을 구성하는 21세기의 새로운 패러다임의 금욕주의과 관련되는 신학적 사유를 내포하고 있다고 주장하게 될 것이다.

영문 초록

This study explores how wisdom hermeneutics of Q and Gospel of Thomas manifests postcolonial resistance and creative negotiation in the relation with Roman imperialism. It also review how the wisdom hermeneutics accomplish postmodern theological agenda of overcoming ontology of violence in modern dichotomy of reason and revelation, secular and profane, and body and soul. For this purpose, in comparison with Horsley, Crossan, Mack's interpretations, this study displays the recent trend of research on Q's view of wisdom of nature manifested in the selected texts (Q 13:19-21, 12:22-25, 15:5-7). It especially explores how the texts suggest view of nature in light of postmodern theological agenda of overcoming modern dichotomy. Especially we also review how we can adumbrate especially postmodern theological implications of Gospel of Thomas in light of recent study on B. Mack's social formation. For the sake of an advanced exegetical exploration of the Gospel of Thomas, this research not only evaluates claim that death of Jesus does not have any soteriological value, and but also Karen King's positive view that Jesus' wisdom has sacramental sense of soteriological meaning in a collective mode. It also examines briefly Mack, Koester, and Patterson's exegetical works of whether Q community projects political resistance against Roman mode of marriage related with patriarchism. Then the exegetical discussion about Thomas' view of social formation in Gospel of Thomas 1, 55, 101, 3 and 113, 114 remarks especially Karen King's and Byung Soo Choi's recent study on its comprehensive understanding of asceticism and marriage ceremony of soul as Hellenistic sublime form of God and 's recent research on Hellenisitc Jewish view of asceticism. By evaluating both theoretical work and exegetical work, our critical review argues that it implicitly manifests the sophisticated meaning of its own mode of political implication, since most of these texts are designed to oppose to legitimating imperialistic power dramatized by Roman mode of patriarchism. From the perspective of Reed's view "ideological phantasy", Jesus' aphoristic Kingdom of God implied in Gospel of Thomas is proposed to create its own postmodern form of soteriology by fusing both Hellenistic wisdom tradition of costly discipleship and Jewish wisdom tradition which resists colonial power of Roman Empire. It also claims that Thomas of Gospel is designed to not simply evoke fusion among Jewish apocalyptic nationalism, Hellenistic wisdom, and pathetic memory of Jesus' word echoed with miserable collective experience of being strangers. Thomas' view of Kingdom of God implicitly manifests its own postmodern mode of reconciliatory theology of peace by creatively overcoming two contradictions between Roman empire and Thomas community, and between Greco-Roman wisdom theology and retaliatory ontology of violence in Jewish apocalyptic theology of Q. Thomas implies also postmodern form of asceticism through union between God and our soul by suggesting radically counter-cultural theology against both Roman Empire's imposed imperialistic ideology of social inequality and soteriological matrix of Kerygmatic mode of theology in Hellenistic Christianity.
