국문 초록

이 글은 칼빈의 예배에 대한 비전을 현대에 발전시킨Jean Jacques von Allmen (1917-1994)의 개혁주의 예배 이해와 실천을 연구한 것이다. 예배(예전) 신학의 주된 논의 주제 가운데 하나는 이른바'신앙의 규율/법'(Lex Credendi; rule of faith)과'기도의 규율/법'(Lex Orandi; rule of prayer) 사이의 관계를 규정하는 것이다. 최근에 이러한 예전 신학의 방법론적 접근에 Michael Aune는 예배가'인간의 일의 규율/법'(lex agenda, rule of the people's work)이라는 측면 뿐만 아니 라', 하나님이주도하시는일'(Opus Dei, God's initiative work) 로서논의되어야 한다는 점을 강조했다. 개혁주의 예배신학은 이러한 예전 신학의 방법론적 접근에 직접적으로 참여하지는 않았지만, 개혁주의의 토대에 근거한 예배의 신 학적, 성경적 이해를 시도하는 일을 지속해왔다. 특별히 20세기 개혁주의 예배신학자인von Allmen은 기독교 예배를 개혁주의 신학에 근거해서 칼빈의 예배에 대한 비전을 계승한 대표적인 인물이다. von Allmen은 자신의 개혁주의 신 학에 근거해서, 기독교 예배의 본질과 형태가 삼위 하나님에 대한 신학의 반영이어야 한다는 것을 주장했다. 그는 기독교 예배를 성령의 도우심을 따라 하나님 아버지의 영광을 위해서 그리스도와의 직접적인 만남을 의식의 형태 안에 서 경험하는 것으로 규정했다. 동시에, von Allmen은 개혁주의 신학의 또 다른 근거인 성경에 나타난 예배 신학의 원리를 발전시켰다. 특별히 신약의 예수 그리스도에게서 나타난 갈릴리 사역과 예루살렘 사역의 두 측면이 말씀과 성찬 의 균형있는 방식을 제시하는 성경적 원리와 지침으로 발전시켜 해석했다. von Allmen은 칼빈의 개혁주의 예배 원리를 따라서 말씀과 성찬의 균형있는 예배 방식이 삼위 하나님을 반영하고 성경에 근거한 가장 바람직한 예배 방식이 라는 것을 주장했다. 이러한 말씀과 성찬의 균형있는 실천을 강조하는 개혁주의 예배 원리는 현대 개혁교회들이 말씀 중심의 예배를 실천하고 있는 현실에 개혁주의의 이상을 지속적으로 실현하기 위해서 지속적으로 고려해야할 과제 로 남아 있다.

영문 초록

This paper articulates Jean Jacques von Allmen's (1917-1994) liturgical understanding of worship as a contemporary continuation of Calvin's vision of Reformed worship by exploring his works of Reformed worship. Liturgical theologians have argued the relationship between Lex Credendi (rule of faith) and Lex Orandi (rule of prayer). This methodology of liturgical theology focusing on the relationship between the rule of prayer (lex orandi) and the rule of faith (lex credendi) has been attacked by Michael Aune. Aune points out a missing aspect in a previous historical approach to liturgical theology that begins with lex agendi (the rule of the people's work) and suggests a theological approach that begins with Opus Dei (God's initiative work). Reformed theology has not directly engaged this current debate of liturgical theology. However, there have been different approaches to liturgical theology in Reformed tradition. von Allmen devoted his academic life to developing and articulating Reformed theology and practice of Christian worship. He articulated Calvin's ideal of Christian worship in the twentieth century. Keeping Reformed theology of worship in mind, he defined a clear Trinitarian understanding of Christian worship in its nature and form by arguing that Christian worship is a ritualized form in which people can meet the presence of Jesus Christ to glorify God in the help of the Holy Spirit. Moreover, von Allmen articulated Biblical foundation and guidance of Reformed worship based on the New Testament. According to him, for the meeting between God and human being, the ritual pattern has been formed and inherited: the Word (Galilean ministry phase) and the Table (Jerusalem ministry phase). Calvin's ideal of Christian worship is the pattern of the Word and the Table according to that of the primitive church. This article argues that von Allmen followed the ideal of Calvin by arguing that the Reformed principle of Christian worship should be the Word and the Table based on the Trinitarian and Biblical theology of Reformed worship.
