국문 초록

본 연구는 노년기에 수도권 신도시로 주거이동을 실행한 노인들의 주거이동과 이동 후 이들이 겪게 되는 주거관련 상황에 대해 알아보고, 주거이동에 영향을 미치는 관련변인 간의 영향력을 파악해 보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구의 목적을 위해 2014년 2월 한달 동안 예비조사를 거쳐 수도권 신도시로 이사한 노인 중 거주기간 1년이상 5년미만인 자 430명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구의 주요결과 분석 내용을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주거이동 후 개인생활의 변화는 새로운 환경에 대한 만족도와 주거애착에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 주요 변인으로 밝혀졌다. 따라서 새 주거에 대한 적응과 만족을 높이기 위해 이동한 노인의 생활측면에 대한 배려가 우선되어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 주거애착 변인은 주거만족도 보다 향후 주거이동 계획에 보다 더 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 이는 노인의 주거이동을 이해하는 매우 중요한 변인이었다. 따라서 이동 후 새로운 지역에 안정적으로 정착하고 계속거주(aging in place)하여 불필요한 다른 이동을 막기 위해서 노인으로 하여금 지역에 대한 자부심이나 애착을 갖도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 마지막으로 주거이동 의사결정의 자발정도는 전체 경로모형 분석에서 개인생활의 변화에 직접적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 어쩔 수 없는 상황에 이동하게 되는 노인에 대해 이동 후 가족 혹은 지역차원에서의 세심한 배려와 관심이 요구된다 하겠다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the residential movement of senior citizens who practice it in their in old age and the residential situations they come to experience after the movement and also figure out variables influencing their residential movement. To attain the study goal, first of all, the author conducted the pilot survey of 40 senior citizens who had the experience of residential movement and reflected it in selecting survey subjects and developing study tools. The main survey was conducted in February, 2014, to 430 senior citizens that moved to a new town in the capital area and resided there for more than a year and less than five years. The results of this study are as follow: First, the change of personal life after their residential movement has been found to be a major variable directly influencing their satisfaction with the new environment and residential attachment. Therefore, to improve senior citizens’ adaption to new residence and satisfaction, it is needed to consider the aspects of their lives after the movement beforehand. Second, the variable of residential attachment has been found to exert more direct effects on planning for their future residential movement than residential satisfaction. Therefore, to prevent senior citizens from moving to another area unnecessarily after the movement, it is essential to help them have pride in and attachment to the area. Third, the voluntariness in decision-making for their residential movement has shown that it exerts direct effects on the change of personal life in path model analysis. Thus, if they have to move unavoidably or for another family member’s decision-making, it is needed to provide them with more considerate care by the family after the movement.
