국문 초록

본고는 마르코 복음 15,37-39의 예수의 십자가 죽음과 백인대장의 고백 이야기를 서사비평에 따라 고찰한다. 따라서 우리는 철저히 본문 안의 내포 독자의 입장에서 본문을 읽는다. 마르코 복음에서 예수가 하느님의 아들이라는 것은 복음서 전체의 중심 주제이다. 마르코 복음은 예수를 하느님의 아들 그리스도로 선포하면서 시작한다. 이야기가 전개되면서 예수가 하느님의 아들이라는 것은 예수의 세례 때와 산 위에서의 예수의 거룩한 변모 때 선포된다. 복음서 말미에 가서 예수를 하느님의 아들이라고 고백한 백인대장은 이방인으로서 처음이자 마지막 인물이다. 백인대장의 고백 이야기는 마르코 복음의 플롯에 중요한 역할을 한다. 백인대장은 로마 군인에서 예수를 하느님의 아들로 고백하는 다면적 인물이다. 내포독자는 예수가 하느님의 사랑스런 아들임을 십자가 죽음을 통하여 알게 된다. 그러나 복음서에서 예수에 대한 완전한 정체성은 복음서 서문이나, 악령들, 제자들, 백인대장에 의해서가 아니라 하느님에 의해서다(1,11; 9,7). 왜냐하면 오직 거기에만 정관사가 있는 '하느님의 아들' 표현이 있기 때문이다.

영문 초록

This article studies Mk 15,37-39, the narrative of Jesus' death and the centurion's confession from the perspective of narrative criticism. Therefore we read the text in the position of the implied author. 'Jesus is the Son of God' is the central theme in the Gospel of Mark. The beginning of the Gospel of Mark starts with the proclamation of Jesus as 'Son of God'. As the narrative unfolds, the fact that Jesus is the Son of God is revealed at Jesus' Baptism and at His glorious Transfiguration on the mountain. The Centurion who confessed that Jesus is 'Son of God' near the end of the Book of Mark, is the first and the last Gentile to do so. The Centurion's confession is an important part of the plot of the Book of Mark. The centurion is a round character, changing from a Roman soldier to a confessor of Jesus as 'Son of God'. The implied reader knows Jesus as the beloved Son of God through the death of Cross. However Jesus' identity is not revealed in the introduction to the gospel or by demons, the disciples, the centurion. It is made by God's declaration that he truly is the beloved Son(1,11; 9,7). Only there is a expression 'the Son of God' with a definite article.
