사범대생 경력개발에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육학, 교육공학, 가정교육, 한문교육에 재학 중인 사범대생 23명을 대상으로 그들이 어떻게 경력개발을 하고 있는지 사범대생의 눈으로 질적 연구를 진행하였다. 현재 사범대생은 청년실업의 문제뿐만 아니라 매우 높은 교원임용시험 경쟁률로 인해 앞으로의 미래직업 선택에 대한 혼란을 겪고 있다는 점이 본 연구의 출발점이다. 경력계획의 과정을 자기진단과 목표설정, 기회와 위협의 인식, 대안검토, 행동계획의 순으로 보아 이를 과거, 현재, 미래의 관점에서 사범대생들의 진솔한 목소리를 드러내도록 하였다. 치열한 임용시험 경쟁하에서 사범대생들은 사범대학 교육에 대한 불만을 지니고 있었고, 미래 경력에 대한 방향성과 자신의 능력 부족 등에 대해서도 불안과 혼란스러움을 동시에 피력하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 대학차원에서 경력개발을 지원할 수 있는 몇 가지 시사점을 제시하였다. 첫째, 학과 및 대학의 차원에서 사범대생들의 자기 진단을 위한 활동을 제공해야 한다. 둘째, 사범대의 커리큘럼이 이론만이 아니라 학생의 실천적 역량을 증진할 수 있도록 변화할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 대학 내 경력개발센터 등에서 비교사 경력목표를 가진 사범대생과 경력미결정자들을 위해 경력계획 관리시스템을 구축할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 대학생 경력개발 전문가를 양성해야 한다. 본 연구는 임용대란으로 일컫는 현재 교원임용시장에서 그 후보자들인 사범대생이 겪는 경력과 관련된 견해들을 그들의 목소리를 통해 탐색해 보고 사범대학 교육의 미래 방향성에 대한 시사점을 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study inquires qualitatively into career development of 23 undergraduate students studying in teacher`s colleges. The study started with the assumption that students in teacher`s colleges experience confusion due to difficult situation caused by both severe youth unemployment and exhaustion of teacher selection test preparation. Researchers tried to expose their own voices with respect to past, present, and future about their career planning process that comprises of 5 steps such as self discovery, goal setting, perception of opportunities and threats, review of alternatives, and action plan. Under the environment of fiercely competitive teacher employment examination, students in teacher`s colleges had negative opinions against the education programs of teacher`s college, and showed anxiety and confusion simultaneously about the directions of their future career and the lack of their present competencies. On the basis of these results, this study proposed some suggestions for the persons in charge of department or college of education in Korea. This study provides significance in terms of exploring teacher`s college students`extensive career development struggles and experiences in their own voices, and drawing some implications for future directions of teacher`s college education.
