청소년들의 통일안보 현장체험학습의 효과에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 청소년들의 통일안보 현장체험학습이 통일안보의식에 어떠한 효과가 있는지를 분석해 봄으로써 시대 상황에 맞는 학교 통일안보교육의 방향을 제시하고자 수도권의 중학생 300명을 대상으로 학교현장에서 통일안보체험학습 전에 질문조사를 하고 그 후 학생야영장에 입소하여 실제 통일안보체험학습을 한 후 질문지 조사를 통하여 두 자료를 비교, 분석하였다. 분석결과 전체적인 통일안보에 대한 인식은 통일안보체험학습 전(3.17)에 비해 통일안보체험학습 후(3.32)에 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타나 통일안보체험학습이 청소년들의 통일안보의식을 높이는데 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있다. 각 영역별로는 남북분단의 현실에 대한 인식은 통일안보체험학습 전(3.16)에 비해 통일안보체험학습 후(3.48)에 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났고, 북한에 대한 이해 역시 통일안보체험학습 전(3.14)에 비해 통일안보체험학습 후(3.27)에 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 통일안보의식의 경우 국내안보에 대한 의식은 통일안보체험학습 전(3.39)에 비해 통일안보체험학습 후(3.52)에 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났고, 북한, 통일 관련 인식 역시 통일안보체험학습 전(3.02)에 비해 통일안보체험학습 후(3.12)에 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났으나, 미국, 중국관련 인식은 유의미한 변화는 보이지 않았다. 통일안보환경의 변화에 대한 인식은 통일안보체험학습 전(3.24)에 비해 통일안보체험학습 후(3.35)에 향상되었으나, 통계적으로 유의미한 변화는 나타나지 않았다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction for reunification education in schools by analyzing the change of youth's reunification security consciousness through field trips. The following are two research questions concerning on achieving this goal. First, how does the youth think about reunification security? Second, how does the youth think after they have done a reunification security program through a field trip? The followings are summary about the results of this research. First, it is shown that the field trip of reunification security program has significantly influenced on the change of youth's understanding about the reality of Korea's continued division. The result suggests that reunification security education in the field trip is effective in helping students to be aware of the Korean division. Second, the study shows that the field trip of reunification security program has influenced on the change of youth's awareness about the high possibility that North Korea might start a war with South Korea such as the Cheonan warship attack and Yeonpyong Island provocation. Third, the study shows that has significantly influenced on the change of youth's understanding with respect to the role of the United States and China not only to improve the relationship between the North and the South but also for the future reunification. Fourth, the research presents that the field trip of reunification security program has a positive influence on youth's awareness of national security and the importance of participating to protect the country when they become adults.
