초등 사회과에서 글로벌 단원의 성립과 전개

국문 초록

우리나라 글로벌교육 현황 파악을 초등학교 사회과 교과서 분석을 통해 시도하였다. 상호의존 개념을 중심으로 글로벌 단원의 성립과 전개 과정을 추적하였다. 분석 결과를 보건대, 글로벌 단원의 성립 전야와 태동기, 그리고 성장기로 시기 구분이 가능하였다. 성립 전야는 5차 교육과정 시기까지로 ‘국제화’의 시각에서 상호의존의 교육내용이 서술되었다. 태동기의 경우, 6차 교육과정 시기이며, 상호의존의 ‘지구촌 사회’를 다루고 있었다. 성장기는 7차 및 개정 7차 교육과정 시기이며, 글로벌 상호의존의 체계적인 인식을 도모하였다. 상호의존의 의미 세계가 정치, 경제, 환경, 문화와 일상생활 등 다양한 차원에서 다루어졌다. 요컨대, 초등학교 사회과교과서는 정치와 경제의 국제 협력을 파악하는 수준에서 글로벌리티의 복합성을 인식하는 문제설정으로 나아가는 변화의 궤적을 보이고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyse units for global learning in elementary social studies textbooks and to understand the trend of global education in Korea. As a result of analysis, I discovered that there are the eve period of formation, the quickening period and the growth period of global education in Korean elementary social studies. First period is to the fifth curriculum age and its characteristic showed international viewpoint. The birth period is the sixth curriculum age and represent 'global society' of interdependence. Namely, in the second period, the idea of 'global village' initially appeared. The growth period is the 7th & the revised 7th curriculum age and propose systematic approach of global interdependence. The meaning of global interdependence is revealed by the multidimensional context such as politics, economy, environment, culture and everyday life. To sum up, in the elementary social studies textbooks, the historical trace of unit development for global learning showed the transition of paradigm from the international cooperation model in political and economical field to trials to understand the complexity of globality.
