요한신학의 관점에서 본 여호와의 증인의 기독론과 종말론

국문 초록

한국교회가 지면한 위기 가운데 하나는 다양한 이단들의 공격이다. 특히 지난 30년동안 여호와의 증인의 활동은 한국교회에 상당한 위협을 가했다. 그들은 자신들의 번역 성경인 「신계계역」을 통해 교리를 정립하고 그 교리들을 중심으로 한국교회를 공격해 왔다. 그들의 교리 가운데 심각한 문제는 기독론과 종말론의 문제이다. 그들은 기독론에 있어서, 요한복음의 본문에 대한 해석학적 오류를 통해 하나님으로서의 예수의 정체성을 부정할 뿐 아니라, 최초의 영적 피조물임을 주장한다. 반면에 종말론에 있어서는 마지막 때에 일어날 사건들에 대한 문자적-자의적 해석을 통해 마지막 때를 1914년으로 이해하고 예수가 하늘 왕국의 왕으로 등극하면서 종말이 시작된다고 이해하며, 여러 현상들을 자의적으로 해석한다. 결국 여호와의 증인의 기독론과 종말론의 문제는 건전하고 객관적인 성경 해석의 방법의 부재를 통해서 나오게 된다. 그러므로 본고는 여호와의 증인의 기독론과 종말론의 교리를 살펴보고 개혁주의 요한신학에 근거하여 그 교리들을 비판할 뿐 아니라, 요한복음과 요한계시록에 나타난 기독론과 종말론에 대한 건전한 해석을 제공하고자 한다.

영문 초록

One of the main reasons for the crises Korean Church is facing, is the invasion of the heresies. Especially movement of Jehovah's Witnesses threatened Korean Church seriously. They found their doctrines using their own bible translation, New World Translation, and based on those doctrines they have been corrupting Korean Church. Most problematic doctrines of theirs is the Christology and the Eschatology. In their Christology, due to hermeneutic fallacies, they deny the identity of Jesus and argue Jesus is the first spiritual creature. On the other hand, in Eschatology, using literary-arbitrary interpretations on the signs for the last days, they defined the last day as the year of 1914, and understood the last day started as Jesus became the king of the heavenly kingdom. Based on such understanding they interpret many present phenomena arbitrarily. After all, the problems on their Christology and Eschatology is originated from the absence of sound and objective interpretation of the bible. Therefore this article, examining the Christology and the Eschatology of Jehovah’s Witnesses, points out the fallacies of their doctrines in a perspective of the Theology of John in the Reformed Theology and provides a sound interpretation of the Christology and the Eschatology of the Gospel of John and the Revelation.
