영문 초록

This study attempted to comparatively analyze the studies of the effects of gwalsa therapy and manipulative therapy on facial reduction and facial muscles. For this, gwalsa therapy and manipulative therapy were given to a total of 20 women (10 women each) aged 40-50s living in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do. Then, the following results were obtained. First, in terms of change of facial lines in the gwalsa therapy group, 'the part from a point under one concha to the opposite point under the other concha' diminished by 11.0mm. As a result, it was confirmed that gwalsa therapy is effective in reducing facial size. Second, in terms of change of facial lines in the manipulative therapy group, 'the part from a point under one concha to the opposite point under the other concha' diminished by 6mm. Therefore, it turned out that manipulative therapy is effective for facial reduction. Third, in terms of muscle activity, both groups were significant, but more precisely the gwalsa therapy group was greater than the manipulative group. According to the test above, even though both groups were significant, the gwalsa therapy group was more effective in reducing facial size. In terms of muscle activity as well, the gwalsa therapy group was more active than the manipulative group. The study results revealed that gwalsa therapy and manipulative therapy reduce facial size and make facial muscles stronger by increasing muscle activity.
